    • Jack Suwinski homers and walks in victory
Jack Suwinski hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Suwinski also drew a walk. The 25-year-old showed some fantasy promise at times in 2024, and while there’s still 90-plus games to go for the Pirates and the outfielder, he has not lived up to that promise this season with a .173/.270/.315 slash. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm

    • Anthony Santander smashes game-tying homer
Anthony Santander went 2-for-5 with a solo home run against the Phillies on Friday.

Advice: Santander’s eighth inning home run was the first Matt Strahm has allowed all season and just the first run he’s allowed at all since opening day. Then Santander put one to the warning track in the 10th inning which nearly won the game for Baltimore. Also, his first inning single was smoked 114.4 MPH - the hardest he’s ever hit a ball in his career. That’s a great sign for the power hitting switch-hitter moving forward. • Exits with concussion-like symptoms
Davis was removed from Friday's game against the Rockies after exhibiting concussion-like symptoms.

Advice: It's unclear when exactly Davis might have suffered the injury, but he was replaced behind the dish by Yasmani Grandal ahead of the seventh inning. Davis is in the process of being evaluated by the Pirates' medical staff, and an update on his status should come in the near future. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:14 pm

    • Marcell Ozuna crushes 19th home run in win
Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, walk, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Ozuna got the Braves going early, taking Zack Littell deep to the opposite field in the first inning and Atlanta wouldn’t look back. Ozuna tied Kyle Tucker for third in the league with 19 home runs and has been one of the best offensive players in baseball so far this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:03 pm

    • Scratched Friday
Cruz was scratched from the Pirates' lineup ahead of Friday's game versus Colorado due to left ankle soreness, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Cruz was initially slated to start at shortstop during Friday's series opener, but it will instead be Jared Triolo making his first career start at short while Cruz takes a day to recover from a tweaked ankle he suffered during Thursday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:12 pm

    • Oneil Cruz (ankle) scratched from lineup on Friday
Oneil Cruz was scratched from the Pirates’ starting lineup on Friday night due to a sore ankle.

Advice: Cruz tweaked his ankle again while running the bases during Thursday’s game and just wasn’t quite ready to give it a go on Friday night. He’s considered day-to-day. Jared Triolo will start in his place at shortstop and bat eighth for the Pirates at Coors Field on Friday evening. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:08 pm

    • On bench against southpaw
Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With the Rays facing a left-handed pitcher for the second consecutive night, Lowe will be held out of the starting lineup once again Friday. Jonny DeLuca will draw another start in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:48 pm

    • Gets rout started
Walker went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Walker told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com that he was not happy with how he was handling fastballs, so he put in extra work in the batting cage this week. It paid off immediately when Walker belted a three-run homer off a four-seamer in the first inning to give Arizona a 3-0 lead. "I've been missing fastballs [and fouling them] straight back a little bit and it's been bothering me," Walker said. He followed that up a solo shot in the third -- a slider this time. The first baseman has three long balls over the last two games and leads the team with 15 home runs and 46 RBI through 69 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:47 am
    • Christian Walker homers twice in blowout victory
Christian Walker plated four runs while homering twice in a blowout victory over the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Walker made it 3-0 Diamondbacks in the first inning with his roundtripper off Griffin Canning with a pair of runners on. His second homer of the game came in the third inning, and it traveled an estimated 464 feet. That’s fair. Walker remains one of the more underappreciated sluggers in baseball with 15 homers and a .480 slugging mark over the first 69 games of the campaign. Rotoworld Thursday, 10:14 pm
