    • Nolan Jones exits Tuesday with back tightness
Nolan Jones was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Padres due to back stiffness.

Advice: Jones snapped an 0-for-26 drought at the plate before making an early exit from Tuesday’s contest against the Padres. There should be an update on his status prior to Wednesday’s showdown, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

    • Initiates home run party
Walker went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 14-1 win over St. Louis.

Advice: Walker kicked off the Diamondbacks' fun with a three-run blast in the third inning. It was the first of three Arizona homers, as later Kevin Newman (two-run shot) and Pavin Smith (grand slam) added to the rout. For Walker, it was his first home run since April 2, snapping an 18-game drought. With four homers in 25 games to start the 2024 season, Walker is behind the pace established the last two seasons when the first baseman launched 36 (2022) and 33 homers (2023); however, he had just four April home runs in each of those two previous seasons. It seems Walker's more productive months are ahead of him. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago
    • Goes yard in blowout loss
Contreras went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 14-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Contreras provided a positive start for the Cardinals with his first-inning blast, but it quickly went off the rails for the home team after that. The catcher saw his 11-game hitting streak end Monday, but he's still been one of the Cardinals' most consistent bats so far. He's slashing .292/.418/.523 with three homers, eight RBI, 10 runs scored, six doubles and a stolen base over 19 contests. Manager Oliver Marmol has committed to getting both Contreras and Ivan Herrera regular at-bats, so they have often shared catcher and designated hitter in recent weeks. • Exits with back stiffness
Jones was removed from Tuesday's game against the Padres due to back stiffness, Kelsey Wingert-Linch of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.

Advice: Jones went 1-for-4 with an RBI during Tuesday's contest to break an 0-for-25 stretch at the plate, but he was replaced in left field after striking out in the sixth inning. The severity of his injury is unclear, but the Rockies will likely offer more details on his condition ahead of Wednesday's game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:16 pm

    • Kyle Tucker tallies two hits in loss to Cubs.
Kyle Tucker went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Tucker and the Astros played catchup all evening after a five-run first by the Cubs created an immediate deficit that proved too much to overcome. Tucker and Jose Altuve were the lone Astros to record multiple hits on the evening, as Tucker now has multi-hit performances in three of his last four games. He continues to stay hot batting in the middle of the Astros’ lineup and remains a top fantasy asset. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:48 pm
    • Marmol: Willson Contreras ‘fine’ after early exit
Willson Contreras was lifted from Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks for precautionary reasons due to left hand discomfort.

Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters following Tuesday’s lopsided defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks that Contreras is fine and that the club merely didn’t want to take any chances in a one-sided contest after he felt some discomfort in his bruised left hand. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm
    • Jhoan Duran strikes out three in rehab outing
Jhoan Duran (oblique) allowed two runs on four hits and struck out three on Tuesday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Duran threw 27 pitches (15 strikes) and averaged 98.1 mph on his fastball in his rehab debut. The hard-throwing 26-year-old closer should be ready to return at some point before the end of April. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:47 pm

    • Willson Contreras leaves game early on Tuesday
Willson Contreras left Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent injury.

Advice: Contreras was 1-for-2 with a solo homer and a walk before appearing to suffer some sort of left side or left hand injury while grounding out in the fifth inning. It’s worth noting that the Cardinals were trailing by nine runs at the time, so it’s possible they just didn’t want to take any chances with him behind the plate for the remainder of the night. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:24 pm
    • J.D. Martinez kicks off rehab assignment Tuesday
J.D. Martinez (back) went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Martinez finally kicked off his rehab assignment after missing a couple weeks recovering from lower back tightness that wound up requiring a cortisone injection earlier this month to address. The 36-year-old veteran slugger will presumably need a handful of additional rehab games to get back up to speed before making his Mets debut. Barring any setbacks, there’s a chance he’s back before the end of April. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:56 pm
