    • Fairbanks picks up save against Cubs Thursday
Pete Fairbanks tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: The save was Fairbanks’ ninth of the season. He walked Michael Busch with one out before getting Nico Hoerner to ground into a double play to end the game. Fairbanks has now converted on six consecutive save opportunities. The last time he blew a save chance was April 17th. His ERA is now 3.00 on the season. Fairbanks already has four saves in June. • Homers off bench Wednesday
Cowser hit a two-run home run in his lone at-bat in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Cowser entered the game as a defensive replacement for Ryan O'Hearn in the top of the eighth inning, and he was able to make some noise on offense with his go-ahead blast a half-inning later. The homer was Cowser's first since May 26 and just his second since the start of May, as his hot start to the year has faded. He's batting just .196 over his last 16 contests, though Cedric Mullins' struggles at the plate have allowed Cowser to maintain a decent share of playing time. The 24-year-old is slashing .234/.324/.436 with eight homers, four stolen bases, 29 RBI and 27 runs scored across 216 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:09 am
    • Getting looks at third base
Caballero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Cubs.

Advice: He has lost some playing time since the return of Taylor Walls but has still started four of the last six games. Caballero has made starts at second base, third base and shortstop and looks set to settle into a utility role for the Rays. The 27-year-old has also been productive of late, hitting two home runs and swiping three bags across his last 10 appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:51 am

    • Records save No. 22
Helsley allowed one hit and struck out one batter over a scoreless inning to earn a save against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Helsley had a rough outing Tuesday against Pittsburgh, giving up two runs over one frame to take the loss. He was right back on the mound the next day and bounced back nicely, working around a leadoff single to finish off the victory. Helsley has converted 22 straight save chances since blowing a save in his first opportunity of the campaign, and the 22 saves overall leads all major-league pitchers. • Posts three-hit effort in win
Schanuel went 3-for-5 with a double and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schanuel went just 5-for-52 (.096) over 15 games since his last multi-hit effort. The first baseman is up to a .216/.282/.338 slash line with seven home runs, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 59 contests. His batting average hasn't been higher than .250 all year, but his iffy contact and lack of speed have yet to cost him the opportunity to regularly bat leadoff. However, Michael Stefanic got a look atop the order in the previous two games before sitting out Wednesday. While Schanuel's spot in the lineup isn't in question, he could drop the down order soon if he goes back to struggling at the plate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:28 pm

    • Dazzles in no-decision
Miller allowed two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller rebounded from his worst start of the year by producing his third scoreless outing in 2024. Two of those scoreless efforts have come over his three starts in June. The 25-year-old has a 3.48 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 80:24 K:BB over 82.2 innings through 14 starts this season as he continues to impress as part of the Mariners' strong rotation. Miller's next start is projected to be a challenging road outing in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:43 pm

    • Bryce Miller tosses seven scoreless vs. White Sox
Bryce Miller tossed seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller was brilliant on Wednesday, holding the White Sox scoreless over seven frames. He scattered two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters on 12 whiffs, tossing 64-of-92 pitches for strikes. Miller unfortunately lost the win when the bullpen blew the one-run lead in the ninth. The 25-year-old right-hander has posted a solid 3.48 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and an 80/24 K/BB ratio across 82 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Guardians in Cleveland on Tuesday. • Ryan Helsley notches 22nd save for Cardinals
Ryan Helsley recorded his 22nd save with a scoreless ninth Wednesday against the Pirates.

Advice: Helsley is the major league leader by two saves over the Guardians’ Emmanuel Clase. He’s gotten the save or the win in a full three-quarters (24 of 32) of the Cardinals’ victories to date. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:20 pm

    • Three hits in win
Duran went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Advice: Duran singled in the third inning, hit an RBI single and scored in the fifth. He then doubled in the sixth. Duran has been stellar through 10 games in June, hitting .357 with six extra-base hits, five RBI and four steals. He is doing a bit of everything in 2024, hitting .269 with five home runs, 28 RBI, 44 runs scored and 15 steals while hitting leadoff for the Red Sox. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:55 pm
