    • Charlie Morton gives up five runs in loss to Yanks
Charlie Morton struggled in a losing effort against the Yankees on Saturday night, giving up five runs on five hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 40-year-old hurler also issued five free passes on the night while striking out four opposing batters. Morton served up a two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening inning, then the Yankees scratched out single runs in the third and fourth innings before chasing Morton while scoring a run in the sixth. Morton generated 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — nine of them on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll attempt to bounce back and improve upon his 4.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and an 80/35 K/BB ratio (79 1/3 innings) when he squares off against the White Sox in Chicago on Thursday. • David Bednar (side) was unavailable on Saturday
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton told reporters after Saturday’s victory that David Bednar was unavailable due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: It was surprising to see Aroldis Chapman close out a one-run victory for the Pirates against the Rays instead of Bednar, and now we know why. Shelton noted that he doesn’t believe the injury is anything serious, but Bednar’s status should be monitored over the coming days. Those speculating on saves in daily leagues could try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chapman. Rotoworld Today, 4:27 pm

    • Wasn't available Saturday
Bednar was unavailable for Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays due to left side tightness, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Bednar missed out on a save chance Saturday as Aroldis Chapman stepped up in the ninth to close out the win. Bednar's absence was planned after feeling the tightness during his pregame throwing program but the injury isn't considered to be serious at this point. If he ends up missing more than just Saturday's game, expect Chapman to continue to see save chances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:18 pm

    • Harper blasts 18th home run, has four hits in win
Bryce Harper went 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Harper’s home run was his 18th of the year. He blasted a two-run shot into the second deck in right field off Arizona starter Tommy Henry in the third inning. Harper now has a seven-game hitting streak and three home runs in his last three games. He’s up to .294 with a .951 OPS and 51 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 pm

    • Bailey Ober hurls complete game with 10 strikeouts
Bailey Ober threw all nine innings while allowing just two runs with 10 strikeouts in a 10-2 rout for the Twins over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Ober gave up a pair of solo homers, and outside of those roundtrippers the 28-year-old was brilliant. He didn’t walk anyone, and even with 10 strikeouts, the right-hander needed only 89 pitches for the complete game. The A’s offense is ever-so-beatable, but credit Ober for another fantastic pitching performance against Oakland. He’s lined up to face the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. • Amed Rosario suffers facial lacerations on Saturday
Amed Rosario suffered facial lacerations when he was hit in the face by a 99.6-mph fastball during Saturday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: It sounds like the 28-year-old infielder was extremely fortunate to have avoided any broken bones in a terrifying situation on Saturday afternoon. It’s unclear if Rosario is going to require a trip to the injured list or will miss any time with the injury, but it’s incredibly encouraging to hear the early diagnosis. Rotoworld Today, 2:59 pm

    • Has facial lacerations
Rosario has facial lacerations stemming from being hit by a pitch during Saturday's game against the Pirates and there's optimism that he avoided any fractures, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Rosario was removed from Saturday's game in the first inning after being struck in the face by a 99 mile-per-hour pitch by Jared Jones. While he did sustain cuts on his face from the incident, initial reports about the injury seem optimistic and could've avoided any bone breaks. Rotowire.com Today, 2:23 pm

    • Dealing with left forearm soreness
Arenado was removed from Friday's game against the Giants with left forearm discomfort, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado was hit in the right arm by a pitch Wednesday but seems to be battling through some pain in his opposite forearm. Considering the Cardinals were ahead by five runs when Arenado was removed, it very well could be precautionary. Regardless, his status should be monitored ahead of Sunday's series finale. • Nolan Arenado leaves game with forearm discomfort
Nolan Arenado was removed from Saturday’s ballgame against the Giants due to left forearm discomfort.

Advice: It’s not the same arm that Arenado had an issue with earlier in the week when he was hit by a pitch, so now he’s dealing with ailments in both arms. As of now, it sounds like a day-to-day type of situation, but it’s something that fantasy managers should keep an eye on over the next few days. Rotoworld Today, 1:33 pm
