    • Goes six scoreless for sixth win
Brown (6-5) earned the win Monday against Toronto, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The Houston right-hander continued his torrid hot streak, tossing an eighth consecutive quality start. Over those eight outings, Brown has gone 5-1 with a 1.29 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB across 49 innings. Despite sporting a 9.78 ERA after his first 23 innings, the 25-year-old has now lowered his overall ERA to 4.07 in 86.1 total innings. Brown is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Twins in Minnesota this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 3:21 pm

    • Hunter Brown goes six scoreless to defeat Jays
Hunter Brown tossed six scoreless frames, allowing only two hits, Monday as the Astros defeated the Blue Jays 3-1.

Advice: The Jays had a chance in the second, when Brown gave up a single and walked two to load the bases with one out, but Ernie Clement and Kevin Kiermaier failed to bring home any runners. Other than that, Brown kept the Toronto bats very quiet on Canada Day. He’s won five straight starts, allowing a total of one run in the process. Having a particularly great stretch of schedule has certainly helped there, but he’d probably be doing just fine against better teams, too. Rotoworld Today, 3:15 pm

    • Gallen’s start moved up to face Dodgers
The Diamondbacks are moving up Zac Gallen’s next start to Thursday against the Dodgers.

Advice: The Arizona Diamondbacks want to get Gallen pitching on every fifth day until the All-Star break, which means he will now face the Dodgers instead of the Padres on Friday as was originally planned. Instead, Slade Cecconi will be moved back to take that start. It’s obviously not great news for fantasy leagues, but the Dodgers have some injuries in their lineup, and Gallen is talented enough that you’re probably starting him regardless of opponent. • Locks down save Sunday
Duran picked up the save in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Mariners, pitching a perfect ninth while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Duran capped off the month with his 12th save in 13 tries this season and turned in a scoreless outing for the 10th time in 12 June appearances. The hard-throwing righty owns a solid 3.51 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 25.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 2:37 am
    • Jhoan Duran silences Mariners to net 12th save
Jhoan Duran fired a perfect ninth inning on Sunday against the Mariners to collect his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Duran turned in a scoreless outing for the 10th time in 12 appearances since the start of June as he needed just 19 pitches (13 strikes) to slam the door in this one. The hard-throwing 26-year-old righty has converted 12 of his 13 save opportunities this season to accompany a solid 3.51 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 23/8 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings (27 appearances). • Hit hard by Guardians
Ragans (5-6) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings as the Royals were downed 7-2 by the Guardians. He struck out six.

Advice: The big blow off the southpaw was a two-run blast by rookie Jhonkensy Noel in the fourth inning, but Ragans also got tagged for doubles by Josh Naylor and Jose Ramirez, with the latter chasing him from the game in the fifth after 93 pitches (52 strikes). Ragans hadn't given up more than three runs in a start since May 11, and he'll take a 3.33 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 126:34 K:BB through 102.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Colorado. • Triumphant in return
Gallen (6-4) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out seven over six shutout innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Gallen returned from a hamstring injury that cost him nearly a month and took full advantage of a soft matchup. This was the fourth time this season he's gone six innings in a start without allowing a run. He's also posted five quality starts in his last six outings, with the lone exception being the May 30 start that ended with the aforementioned hamstring injury before he could record an out. The right-hander is now at a 2.83 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 67:16 K:BB through 63.2 innings over 12 starts. Gallen threw 77 pitches (50 strikes) Saturday, so he should be good for a full workload his next time out, which is tentatively projected for a road outing at San Diego. • Resumes light throwing
Padres manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Darvish (elbow) has resumed playing light catch, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish was expected to come off the 15-day injured list and make a start for the Padres on Tuesday against the Nationals, but a bout of right elbow inflammation put a halt to that plan. The right-hander underwent imaging that came back clean, and the fact that he's now doing light throwing suggests that the issue isn't serious. However, Darvish is expected to undergo additional imaging before he's cleared to return from the IL. His availability for the upcoming week is uncertain. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:34 pm

    • Ragans allows five runs in loss Saturday
Cole Ragans allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: Ragans gave up six hits, walked one and struck out six. This start broke a streak of five consecutive quality starts for Ragans. He has a 3.33 ERA and 3.11 xFIP on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.
