    • Michael Harris II diagnosed with Grade 2 strain
Michael Harris II has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.

Advice: If it wasn’t bad enough that the 23-year-old outfielder landed on the injured list with his hamstring strain, his MRI exam revealed it to be a more serious strain, which means that he’ll be sidelined for even longer. The Braves have yet to provide a timeline for his recovery, but it’s going to be longer than just a couple of weeks. Expect Ramon Laureano to see increased action in the Braves’ outfield in the meantime. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:22 pm

    • Out against southpaw
Suwinski is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Suwinski will take a seat against lefty Ty Blach on Saturday. Michael Taylor will play center field and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm

    • Oneil Cruz (ankle) remains out of Pirates’ lineup
Oneil Cruz (ankle) remains out of the Pirates’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Rockies.

Advice: It’s the second straight game that the dynamic 25-year-old shortstop has missed at Coors Field due to a sore ankle. The encouraging sign is that is still hasn’t been placed on the injured list, so the Pirates still believe that it’s truly a day-to-day type of situation. Jared Triolo will once again start in his place and will bat eighth against Rockies’ southpaw Ty Blach. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:27 pm

    • Still out Saturday
Cruz (ankle) isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Colorado.

Advice: Cruz was a late scratch from Friday's lineup with left ankle soreness and will take a seat once again Saturday. Jared Triolo will draw another start at shortstop and bat eighth for the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:24 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) might require rehab assignment
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Saturday that Kyle Tucker (shin) might require a minor league rehab assignment.

Advice: Espada elaborated that Tucker might need some rehab games to get back up to speed if he doesn’t resume running at some point this weekend. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar has been out since early June recovering from a right shin contusion and has yet to resume baseball activities. There should be a clearer picture of his potential return timeline at some point in the coming days. It certainly doesn’t sound like he’s close at this juncture. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 am

    • Goes on paternity leave
The Guardians placed Ramirez on the paternity list Saturday.

Advice: Ramirez will likely miss his team's remaining two games this weekend in Toronto before rejoining them for the start of a homestand Tuesday following Monday's scheduled off day. Johnathan Rodriguez is taking Ramirez's roster spot and Daniel Schneemann is getting a start at third base Saturday versus the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:25 am

    • Guardians place José Ramírez on paternity list
Guardians placed 3B José Ramírez on the paternity list.

Advice: Ramírez will miss the remainder of Cleveland’s weekend series in Toronto to be with his wife for the birth of their second child. It’ll be Johnathan Rodriguez coming up to take his active roster spot. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar, who holds a sublime .864 OPS with 18 homers and 11 steals in 291 plate appearances over 66 games this season, should be back from paternity leave early next week. • Transferred to 60-day IL
Strider (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Strider is already set to miss the remainder of the 2024 campaign after undergoing elbow surgery in April, so the move to the 60-day IL doesn't affect his outlook. The right-hander will still have his sights set on a return at some point early in the 2025 season; in the meantime, Saturday's transaction opened a spot on the 40-man roster for Ramon Laureano, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Gwinnett. • Placed on 10-day IL
Harris (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: As expected, Harris will now be sidelined for at least 10 days while nursing a strained left hamstring. Ramon Laureano was selected from Triple-A Gwinnett to replace Harris on the major-league roster, while Spencer Strider (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list to complete the corresponding moves.
