    • Jeremiah Estrada winds up with win after BS
      Jeremiah Estrada took a blown save but ended up with a win after allowing two runs in the ninth Thursday against the Brewers.

      Advice: In Estrada’s defense, he really should have Christian Yelich struck out to begin the ninth, which probably would have led to a scoreless frame. Instead, he allowed two runs after surrendering two runs on a walk to Yelich and two hits. It was quite curious that the Padres decided to use Estrada and avoid Robert Suarez tonight. Both had worked the previous two days, but Suarez threw fewer pitchers in those outings, had, unlike Estrada, gone four straight days without working previously and is the older of the two by eight years. If we were the Padres, we’d consider Estrada the more important reliever of the two going forward. Suarez, though, is in the second year of a five-year, $46 million contract.       Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

      Advice: Gimenez entered the contest 0-for-13 over his last three games. The homer was his first since May 22, and it was his first extra-base hit since June 8.     • Ryan Helsley secures MLB-leading 25th save
      Ryan Helsley fired a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Giants to record his major league-leading 25th save of the season.

      Advice: Helsley was summoned to protect a narrow one-run lead at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama and made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Trenton Brooks and surrendering a two-out single to Patrick Bailey, which put the potential tying run in scoring position. He managed to wriggle out of the jam by striking out Matt Chapman to extinguish the threat. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty has converted 25 of 26 save chances this season to go along with a sparkling 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 38/13 K/BB ratio across 33 innings (33 appearances).       Irvin did not factor into the decision in a win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out two.

      Advice: Irvin had a hard time with the Yankees' lineup for much of the afternoon, allowing runs in three of the five innings in which he appeared before being relieved by Bryan Baker. The lefty surrendered two home runs in the contest, something he hadn't done in any of his previous starts coming in, while also matching his season high with five runs allowed. Irvin had gone at least five innings in four consecutive starts prior to Thursday's game and will look to bounce back next week when the Orioles take on the Guardians in Baltimore.       Cole Irvin allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Orioles’ 17-5 victory over the Yankees on Thursday.

      Advice: Irvin gave up five hits, walked two and struck out two. He didn’t complete five innings and thus didn’t qualify for the win in the Orioles’ blowout victory, a brutal beat for fantasy managers. Irvin is having a solid year with a 3.45 ERA and six wins.     • Witt Jr. blasts 12th home run in win Thursday
      Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Athletics on Thursday.

      Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 12th of the year. He hit a solo shot in the eighth inning to give the Royals a 3-2 lead. One of the best players in all of fantasy, Witt Jr.'s hitting .322 with a .921 OPS with 53 RBI this year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:57 pm
       
    • CJ Abrams day-to-day after MRI on left wrist
      CJ Abrams is day-to-day after an MRI this week revealed a Ganglion cyst on his left palm near his wrist.

      Advice: Nationals manager Dave Martinez told reporters Thursday that it isn’t a serious concern. We’re not medical professionals, but a Ganglion cyst is basically a non-cancerous lump that appears along the joints of the wrists or hands. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward as the issue mighty simply go away on its own, but it’s something Abrams will have to manage going forward.       Abrams is considered day-to-day after an MRI revealed a ganglion cyst on his left wrist, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

      Advice: A ganglion cyst is a noncancerous lump which is commonly found on the tendons or joints of the wrists and hands. While the cyst has caused Abrams some discomfort, it's something that will often clear on its own. The shortstop could be back in the lineup this weekend in Colorado.       Advice: Westburg missed Wednesday’s game after he was removed from Tuesday’s game following being hit by a pitch. The Orioles had previously said he was day-to-day and that proved true as he’s back at second base and hitting sixth on Thursday. Ramon Urias will play third base as Jorge Mateo heads to the bench.
