    • Joe Ryan strikes out eight in win against Astros
Joe Ryan allowed three runs with eight strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Ryan pitched two clean frames before a pair of doubles brought a run in to score for Houston in the third. Jon Singleton then hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Ryan worked into the sixth before leaving with the bases loaded and two outs. He struck out eight on the day. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 118/16 K/BB ratio across 109 1/3 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco on Friday. • Hunter Brown struggles against Twins on Saturday
Hunter Brown allowed seven runs with five strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Brown had quite the forgettable day on the mound as he surrendered seven runs to the Twins. The seven runs matched the total runs he’s allowed over his last eight starts combined. Three hits, a hit batter, and a sacrifice fly brought two runs in to score in the first. Minnesota brought three more runs in on four hits and a walk in the second. And Brooks Lee would hit a two-run homer in the third. Brown worked three more scoreless innings before his day was done at 105 pitches. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 4.48 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 100/36 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings into a start against the Rangers in Houston on Friday. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
    • Removed early Saturday
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Blue Jays should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:35 pm

    • Julio Rodriguez leaves game with possible injury
Julio Rodriguez was removed from Saturday’s ballgame against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on what exactly occurred, but Rodriguez was pinch-hit for by Ty France the first time that he strolled to the plate in the home half of the first inning. Expect the Mariners to provide an update on the superstar outfielder’s status as soon as more information is available. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm

    • Justin Turner back from paternity leave Saturday
Blue Jays activated 1B Justin Turner from the paternity list.

Advice: Turner is back for Saturday’s game against the Mariners following a three-game stint away from the club on paternity leave. The 39-year-old veteran slugger holds a lackluster .734 OPS with five homers and 27 RBI in 284 plate appearances over 74 games this season in his Toronto debut. Rotoworld Today, 10:57 am

    • Back from paternity leave
The Blue Jays reinstated Turner from the paternity list Saturday.

Advice: Turner won't start Saturday's game against Seattle, but he should retain his role as the Jays' primary designated hitter after spending three days away from the team for the birth of his child. The 39-year-old has slashed .250/.359/.375 on the season, though he boasts a 1.009 OPS over his last nine contests. Addison Barger was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. • Goes yard again
Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Aaron Nola let a sinker catch too much of the plate in the fourth inning, and Riley drove it over the wall in center field for Atlanta's first runs of the night. The third baseman has an extra-base hit and at least one RBI in four straight games, and over his last 20 contests he's slashing .362/.438/.797 with six doubles, eight homers, 17 runs and 17 RBI. • Reaches four times, goes deep
Greene went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double and a solo home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Greene has been hot lately, as he's riding a four-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 8-for-16 with two home runs. He's up to 17 long balls this season, which is already a new career high. The 23-year-old Greene appears to be having his breakout, so fantasy managers should enjoy the ride as long as the young outfielder stays healthy. Rotowire.com Today, 6:35 am

    • Alex Bregman hits three-run homer in Astros’ win
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two walks Friday as the Astros edged the Twins 13-12.

Advice: Bregman’s seemingly meaningless homer made it a 13-5 game in the ninth before the Twins almost came all of the way back in the bottom of the inning. It was Bregman’s first homer since June 3 and 10th of the year. At .251/.314/.403, he’s been essentially a league-average hitter halfway through his walk year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm
