    • On fire in June
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Vaughn grounded into a pair of fielder's choice outs to tally his two RBI. Though it wasn't a particularly notable performance, he now has five home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored across 14 games in June while also hitting .356. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
    • Stuck with first blown save
Suarez (4-1) took a blown save and the loss in a 4-3 defeat to the Phillies, allowing two runs on four hits in one-third of an inning.

Advice: Suarez coaxed a flyout from Trea Turner for the final out in the eighth inning before the right-hander surrendered four straight hits in the ninth, ultimately allowing two runs to take his first loss and blown save this season. Suarez had allowed just one run in his previous 27 innings coming into Tuesday. He still sports a stellar 1.21 ERA across 29.2 innings this year with a 0.81 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB while logging 17 saves. • Dominant in fifth straight win
Lodolo (8-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Pirates, allowing a run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: A Ke'Bryan Hayes homer in the seventh inning was the lone mark against Lodolo on Tuesday as he earned his fifth straight win -- the left-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start during that span. Overall, Lodolo's ERA is down to 2.76 on the year with a 1.01 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB across 65.1 innings. He'll look to extend his winning streak to six in his next outing, currently scheduled as a home rematch with the Pirates early next week. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago

    • Josh Smith hits three-run homer against Mets
Josh Smith went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer Tuesday in the loss to the Mets.

Advice: We’re still not really buying into Smith’s terrific start to the season, but there’s little doubt that he’ll remain in the Rangers lineup after Josh Jung returns. He’s batting .298/.386/.451 through 247 at-bats, even though his exit velocity numbers are actually worse than when he hit .185/.304/.328 last season. His strikeout rate is well down, which definitely helps, but he still seems to be overachieving at the moment. Rotoworld Today, 8:46 pm

    • Robert Suárez suffers blown save
Robert Suárez blew a save on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits in 1/3 innings against the Phillies.

Advice: Suárez was called on to protect a one-run lead, but he allowed three straight singles to Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, and Bryson Stott to tie the game. Nick Castellanos then hit a ground rule double to seal the win for the Phillies. It was just Suárez’s first blown save of the season, and he still carries a 1.21 ERA on the season. There’s nothing to be worried about here. Rotoworld Today, 7:47 pm
    • Nick Lodolo tremendous in win over PIT
Nick Lodolo allowed one run on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: The left-hander struck out eight and didn’t walk a single batter on the day. He got 18 whiffs on 50 swings for a 36 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW on the day. He did a good job keeping his fastball upstairs and the curve low in the zone, which led to a 57 percent whiff rate on the curve alone. Lodolo has always showcased high upside but injuries have gotten in his way; yet, he now has a 2.76 ERA on the year with a good start against these same Pirates next week. • Willson Contreras (forearm) makes rehab debut at DH
Willson Contreras (forearm) went 1-for-3 with a run scored on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Contreras got in a handful of at-bats at designated hitter in his first minor league rehab contest since undergoing surgery back in early May to repair a left forearm fracture. There’s a strong possibility he’s back for St. Louis before the end of the month. Rotoworld Today, 4:30 pm

    • Josh Smith returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Mets
Josh Smith is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets.

Advice: Smith is back at designated hitter for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets after missing four straight games due to general soreness. It could be a few additional days before he’s ready to get back onto the field defensively, but it’s an encouraging development that the Rangers are able to get his bat back into the lineup. The 26-year-old infielder has been excellent this year, batting .294/.384/.436 with four homers and four steals across 243 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:05 pm

    • Back in lineup
Smith (hamstring) is batting third as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Smith missed four straight games with tightness in his upper hamstring but will rejoin the lineup Tuesday. While he's healthy enough to play, the Rangers are opting to ease Smith into action in a non-defensive capacity, giving him his first start at DH this season. Rotowire.com Today, 1:04 pm
