George Kirby holds Astros to one run in no-decision
George Kirby gave up just a run over six innings against the Astros on Friday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.
Advice: Kirby threw just 88 pitches before leaving Friday, and Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters after the game that he had some issues with his right knee. Obviously, that’s something to keep an eye on. It was yet again a tremendous outing when Kirby was on the mound, however, and he’s allowed just the one earned run over his last three starts. Assuming Kirby’s knee doesn’t require missing an outing, he’ll go again Wednesday against the Twins in Minnesota.
