    • Triston McKenzie gives up three homers to Mets
Triston McKenzie gave up three runs — all of them on solo homers — over five innings Wednesday versus the Mets.

Advice: Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil and Harrison Bader hit the homers. McKenzie averaged a season-low 89.7 mph with his fastball today, down from 91.0 previously and 92.4 mph before he hurt his elbow last year. It’s impressive that he has a 3.44 ERA to date, but he doesn’t seem like a very good bet at this point. Rotoworld Today, 1:55 pm
    • Shaky in no-decision
McKenzie did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Mets, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out five.

Advice: McKenzie didn't appear to have his best stuff Wednesday, as he'd allow three solo homers before departing with a 3-0 deficit in the sixth inning. However, the Guardians would rally for six unanswered runs in an eventual victory, sparing McKenzie the loss. Still, it's the first time in seven starts that McKenzie's allowed more than two earned runs -- he came into the day with a 2.10 ERA over his prior six outings. Overall, the 26-year-old right-hander sports a 3.44 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 45:31 K:BB over 10 starts (52.1 innings) this season. McKenzie's next start is currently lined up for early next week against the Rockies in Colorado. Rotowire.com Today, 1:40 pm
    • Hitting bench Wednesday
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After playing the final three innings of Tuesday's suspended game earlier Wednesday and finishing 1-for-3 in Baltimore's 3-1 loss, Mountcastle will get a breather for the regularly scheduled game. Ryan O'Hearn will step in for Mountcastle at first base. Rotowire.com Today, 10:31 am

    • Anthony Santander returns to right field
Anthony Santander is back in right field Wednesday for the first time since suffering a bruised knee last week.

Advice: Santander was used as a designated hitter in his previous three starts. He’s batting cleanup today against the Cardinals. Rotoworld Today, 10:31 am

    • Ryan Mountcastle takes a seat Wednesday
Ryan Mountcastle is out of the Orioles’ lineup Wednesday for the third time in five days.

Advice: The Orioles are DHing Adley Rutschman today, taking away Mountcastle’s spot. Mountcastle is in a 1-for-24 slump that’s dropped his OPS from .842 to .733. He’d be playing through it on practically any other team, but the stacked Orioles are treating him like a role player. Rotoworld Today, 10:21 am

    • Two steals in loss
Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs and two steals in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Ohtani was one of two Dodger hitters with multiple hits in the game and swiped multiple bases for the third time this year to bring his total up to 13. Ohtani now has nine multi-hit efforts this month and continues to terrorize opposing pitching. He leads the league with a 1.080 OPS and is now slashing .356/.425/.655 with 13 homers, 34 RBI, 39 runs and a 24:42 BB:K in 221 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:00 am

    • Walk-off hit in return
Hoerner went 1-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Advice: Hoerner had a relatively unimpressive return after missing over a week with a hamstring issue, but he made up for it with a one-out, walk-off single in the 10th inning. The infielder is slashing .267/.357/.385 with two home runs, 13 RBI, 25 runs scored and five stolen bases over 185 plate appearances. Hoerner's return will likely mean less playing time for Nick Madrigal moving forward, assuming Hoerner doesn't suffer a setback with his hamstring. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 pm

    • Another scorelesss start
Crochet (5-4) picked up the win Tuesday against Toronto, allowing two hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Crochet has tossed 17 consecutive scoreless innings and earned a victory in each of his last four starts. While he fanned fewer than six batters for the first time in five starts, the 25-year-old retired the first 13 batters he faced. Since his ERA peaked at 6.37 on April 24, Crochet has yielded three runs over 28.0 innings to lower his ERA to 3.75 overall. He's lined up to close out the two-start week Sunday against the Orioles. • Locks down ninth save
Alvarado earned the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: The Rangers got the tying run to the plate with one out in the ninth after an error and a Leody Taveras base hit. However, Alvarado would proceed to strike out Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, picking up his ninth save in a 5-2 win. While the Phillies have utilized a modified committee approach to the ninth inning, the left-handed Alvarado has established himself as their preferred closing option. His ERA sits at 3.54 with a 1.03 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:19 pm
