    • Stephen Drew (back) has returned to the starting lineup for the Red Sox on Monday.
Advice: Drew missed back-to-back games over the weekend due to back issue, but it was never a major concern. The 30-year-old is hitting .238/.336/.410 with three home runs, 18 RBI and a .746 OPS through 31 games this season.

    • Josh Reddick (wrist) will try taking batting practice on Friday.
Advice: If it goes well, he'll be cleared to begin a rehab assignment. Reddick discussed last week the possibility of surgery on his right wrist, but he's been able to take dry swings with no issues. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks, it seems possible that he could be activated sometime next week.

    • Josh Reddick (wrist) has been taking some dry swings but is not ready to take batting practice yet.
Advice: Reddick is eligible to return from the disabled list on Wednesday, but that's not going to happen. It's possible the outfielder might eventually require surgery, but that point hasn't been reached yet. A timetable for his return remains up in the air.

    • Brian Dozier went 0-for-4 as the Twins' leadoff man on Monday, dropping his average to .205.
Advice: Dozier started off well after replacing Aaron Hicks in the leadoff spot, but now he's hitting .154 with two walks in 52 at-bats this month. The Twins should consider sending him down, but none of their minor league options are better bets.

    • Yan Gomes slugged two home runs -- including a 10th-inning walkoff -- in Monday's 10-8 defeat of the Mariners.
Advice: Gomes hit a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning and then played the hero by cranking a three-run blast in the bottom of the 10th with the Indians trailing by two. Gomes finished with four RBI and now has nine RBI in 17 games this season to go along with a cool .951 OPS. He should start seeing a bit more regular playing time.

    • Hisashi Iwakuma allowed five earned runs over six innings Monday in the Mariners' loss to the Indians.
Advice: Iwakuma entered the outing with an outstanding 1.84 ERA and 0.78 WHIP. By the time he was done serving up seven hits, three walks and five earned runs to the Tribe, his ERA had jumped to 2.37 and his WHIP had slid to 0.87. Iwakuma will try to bounce back next week against the Rangers. It will be a tought test for the right-hander.
      (Rotoworld.com)
  • Wed, May 15
    • Hisashi Iwakuma allowed two runs in seven innings against the Yankees to pick up his fifth win of the season on Wednesday.
Advice: Iwakuma has yet to allow more than three runs in a single start this season, and Wednesday was a standard outing for the right-hander. Iwakuma surrendered just two solo home runs to the Yanks, striking out four while walking none. He now owns a 1.84 ERA and 0.78 WHIP through nine starts, and he should be started in even the shallowest of mixed leagues as his impressive run continues. His next turn will come Monday against the Indians.

Advice: "Leury's going to get some time there," Washington said. "So when you see Profar sitting, don't be surprised." It's obviously not what fantasy owners that picked up Profar want to hear. He should still see most of the starts at second, but Washington wants to keep Garcia sharp.

    • Rangers recalled INF Jurickson Profar from Triple-A Round Rock.
Advice: Profar will see regular starts at second base while Ian Kinsler (intercostal) is on the disabled list. Baseball's top prospect was batting .278/.370/.438 with four homers and six steals in 37 games at the Triple-A level and is worth an add in fantasy leagues based purely on talent and ceiling. But he won't have a guaranteed role when Kinsler returns.

He had a cool 2.78 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 25/6 K/BB ratio through his first 22 2/3 innings (four starts) this season at Triple-A Tacoma and could reach the major leagues later this summer if he can get healthy.

Advice: Lewis was sitting around 85-86 mph in his rehab start Monday at Double-A Frisco and wants to be closer to 89-91 mph by the time he returns to the major leagues. The hope had been that he would be ready to rock during the first week of June, but a more realistic timetable calls for him to be activated near the middle of the month. The 25-year-old right-hander had a 2.08 ERA and 33/11 K/BB ratio in 43 1/3 innings over seven starts and one relief appearance in Triple-A. • R.A. Dickey yielded three runs (two earned) in eight innings Monday in a 7-5 win over the Rays.
Advice: It was his longest outing of the season. Dickey limited the Rays to just four hits, but he issued four walks. Still, he was able to limit the damage. The knuckleballer has allowed two earned runs in each of his last three starts, lowering his ERA from 5.36 to 4.50 for the year.
