  • Dodgers, Braves talking Uribe/Callaspo deal
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers are talking to the Braves about a deal involving Juan Uribe and Alberto Callaspo.

Advice: No specifics yet, but Uribe and a minor leaguer would go to the Braves for Callaspo and three minor leaguers. Rosenthal hears from one source that the deal was close to being completed as of Monday night, which explains why Callaspo was a late-scratch from the Braves' lineup. Callaspo doesn't have much value to the Dodgers, but moving Uribe would officially clear the way for Alex Guerrero, Justin Turner, and Scott Van Slyke to take on more pronounced roles. Uribe, 36, is batting just .247/.287/.309 with one home run and six RBI through 87 plate appearances this season and is making $6.5 million. Because Callaspo signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Braves as a free agent over the winter, he has the ability to veto any trade until June 15. Rotoworld.com

  • Braves trying to trade Alberto Callaspo
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez revealed after Monday's game that Alberto Callaspo was scratched because the club is in the process of trying to trade him.

Advice: There had been speculation that he could be designated for assignment, but evidently the Braves might find a taker for him. They'll surely have to eat a good portion of what remains of Callaspo's $3 million salary for this season. The veteran infielder has just three hits in his last 53 at-bats to drop his season average to .206. Rotoworld.com

Guerrero also homered on Sunday and now stands with eight along with 20 RBI and a .309/.337/.679 batting line. Rotoworld.com

  • Callaspo to be designated for assignment?
MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports that Alberto Callaspo may be designated for assignment.

Advice: The Braves didn't give a reason for scratching Callaspo from Monday's lineup, but Bowman is hearing it could be because his time with the club is coming to an end. The veteran infielder has just three hits in his last 53 at-bats to drop his season average to .206. He was signed to a $3 million contract over the offseason. Rotoworld.com

  • Carlos Santana homers, scores twice
Carlos Santana belted a solo homer and scored a pair of runs in Monday's loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Santana got the Indians on the board in the first inning with a solo blast in what turned out to be an offensive slugfest. He also drew a pair of walks on the day. Santana's numbers have been a tad disappointing to this point, but he still has a .367 on-base percentage and is on pace for 18 homers and 88 RBI. Rotoworld.com

Plouffe is off to an excellent start at the plate this season, batting .270/.353/.474 with seven home runs and 25 RBI through 41 games. The Twins are now eight games over .500 at 26-18. Rotoworld.com

The 23-year-old owns a healthy .282/.400/.473 batting line to go along with 30 RBI, five steals, and 25 runs scored. He's been worth the wait for Cubs fans and fantasy owners. Rotoworld.com

Chase Headley went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI as the Yankees torched the Royals 14-1 on Memorial Day.

Advice: Headley kicked off the rout with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning, then Brian McCann and Brett Gardner both followed with three-run shots in what became an eight-run opening frame. Stephen Drew added another three-run homer in the bottom of the second, finally driving Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie from the game. Headley also had an infield single and an RBI double. Alex Guerrero hit a two-run homer in Sunday's big loss to the Padres.

Advice: Guerrero smacked his homer off of James Shields in the seventh inning, drawing the Padres to within 10-3. There was no epic comeback in the works, though, and the homer worked merely to pad Guerrero's stats. Not that they need much padding. With a .300/.329/.638 slash line, plus seven homers and 18 RBI in just 80 at-bats, Guerrero has taken advantage of limiting playing time to put up productive numbers. Rotoworld.com

Carpenter went 6-for-11 in the weekend set at Kauffman Stadium and he's now batting .323/.391/.595 with eight home runs, 27 RBI, and 31 runs scored in 39 games this season. Rotoworld.com

Chris Davis went 0-for-6 with four strikeouts in Saturday's 13-inning loss to the Marlins.

Unfortunately for the Orioles, Davis didn't counteract the four strikeouts with any offensive pyrotechnics. The hit-less game dropped his season batting line to .210/.290/.427. • Bryant goes 1-for-3 with a run, RBI, SB
Kris Bryant went 1-for-3 with a stolen base, run and RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Bryant is riding a nine-game hitting streak and has swiped a bag in two straight. Bryant didn't play in the first few weeks, but he's still on pace for 83 runs and 104 RBI. He has four homers, putting him on pace for 17. As long as he stays healthy, he's going to do better than that, which speaks well to his RBI potential. Rotoworld.com

  • Pablo Sandoval (knee) sitting out Wednesday
Pablo Sandoval (knee) is not in the Red Sox' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Sandoval had to exit Tuesday's contest after being hit on the left knee with a pitch. Tests came back negative, but he's no doubt still sore. Consider Sandoval day-to-day. Brock Holt is filling in at third base. Rotoworld.com

Trevor Plouffe doubled and hit a two-run home run in four at-bats in Tuesday's victory versus the Pirates.

Advice: Plouffe capped off the Twins' six-run second inning with a two-run home run off of Francisco Liriano. It's his first multi-hit game and his first homer since May 3, over two weeks ago. He's still batting a productive .261/.340/.455 with six home runs and 20 RBI. Rotoworld.com

Josh Donaldson accounted for both Blue Jays runs in Tuesday's loss to the Angels, going 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and a solo home run.

Advice: Donaldson put the Jays on top early with a first-inning home run against Hector Santiago. He broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth with a sacrifice fly. He was batting leadoff for just the third time this season. Donaldson is hitting .316/.382/.551 with nine home runs and 28 RBI. Rotoworld.com

  • Wright (hamstring, back) resumes activities
David Wright (hamstring, back) resumed baseball activities Monday in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Advice: He did everything but swing a bat. Wright was placed on the disabled list April 15 with a right hamstring strain and suffered a back injury while rehabbing that strain. There's no exact timetable for the veteran third baseman's return, but he should be good by early June if he is able to avoid further setbacks. Rotoworld.com

  • Donaldson batting leadoff for Jays on Monday
Josh Donaldson is in the leadoff spot for the Blue Jays on Monday afternoon against the Angels.

Advice: It's only his second time hitting leadoff for Toronto. Jose Bautista will bat second, Edwin Encarnacion will bat third, and Russell Martin is at cleanup against Anaheim left-hander C.J. Wilson. Donaldson has an impressive .307/.379/.527 slash line in 39 games with the Jays. Rotoworld.com

  • Miguel Cabrera plates lone run in loss Sunday
Miguel Cabrera went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, plating the Tigers lone run in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Cabrera also drew a walk in the contest. He has been on an absolute tear at the plate in recent weeks and now sports a .333/.436/.601 with 10 homers and 30 RBI. He remains arguably the best right-handed hitter in the game and an offensive force in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Kris Bryant exits game due to illness
Kris Bryant had to leave Sunday's game versus the Pirates because he was under the weather.

  • Wright to resume baseball activities Monday
David Wright (hamstring, back) will resume baseball activities on Monday.

Advice: It doesn't mean he's poised to return to the Mets' lineup soon, as Wright has been shut down for over a week and will need a rehab assignment eventually. Still, it's a nice step in the right direction after an absence that's dragged on longer than expected. Wright is on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, but it's a back issue that's holding up his recovery. Rotoworld.com

  • Cabrera homers in win over Cardinals
Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored against the Cardinals on Friday.

Advice: It was the 399th home run of his career. Strangely, it was also his first home run in a night game this season. Cabrera has back-to-back three-hit games and owns a healthy .338/.442/.592 battling line on the year to go along with nine home runs and 28 RBI. He'll set his sights on career home run No. 400 this weekend. Rotoworld.com

  • Pablo Sandoval continues to struggle vs. LHP
Pablo Sandoval went 0-for-3 against J.A. Happ on Friday to fall to 2-for-37 against left-handers this season.

Advice: Sandoval has killed righties, but he's looked positively helpless batting right-handed. Considering that he was bad last year, too, it's about time he considers joining the club, which already boasts Shane Victorino and Daniel Nava as members, and giving up switch-hitting. The Red Sox don't really have an alternative for him against lefties; Sandoval's backup, Brock Holt, is a left-handed hitter. Rotoworld.com

  • Moustakas has four-hit night vs. Yankees
Mike Moustakas was 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Moustakas had a single, two doubles, and a triple. His double in the seventh inning was very close to being a home run, which would have given him the cycle. Still, it was a fantastic night for the 26-year-old, who is batting .333/.392/.496 on the year and has embraced hitting to the opposite field. Rotoworld.com
