• Blows first save
Iglesias blew the save Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks across one inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Iglesias was given two runs of cushion in the ninth but allowed three consecutive singles to open up the frame. With the bases loaded and no outs, a hard-hit ground ball by Josh Bell ricocheted off Matt Olson into Atlanta's dugout, allowing two runs to score. The outing snapped Iglesias's streak of seven straight appearances with a save and was just his second outing allowing a run in 10 appearances. Rotowire.com 2 minutes ago
  • Garrett Crochet struggles again in loss Wednesday
Garrett Crochet allowed five runs with six strikeouts over four innings in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: After a scoreless first inning, Crochet got into trouble in the second. A walk, double, and base hit brought a run in for the Twins before Willi Castro took him deep for a three-run shot. Crochet completed two more innings before a leadoff double in the fifth would knock him out of the game. The inherited runner would eventually come in to score. The 24-year-old left-hander struck out six. He’s had a run of bad starts now, giving up at least five runs in each of his last three outings. Crochet will look to turn things around in a rematch against the Twins in Chicago on Monday. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago

  • Resumes on-field work
Yelich (back) was spotted running on the field prior to Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Pirates, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: While Yelich's ability to take part in some form of on-field activity is a positive sign as he works his way back from a lower-back strain, he has yet to resume swinging a bat or playing catch since landing on the 10-day injured list April 16. The Brewers haven't set a firm target date for Yelich's return to the lineup, but at the very least, he doesn't look as though he'll be ready to come off the IL when first eligible this weekend. • Shut down for seven days
LeMahieu is still dealing with swelling in his right foot and will be shut down from baseball activity for a week, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Advice: LeMahieu had to make an early exit from his first rehab game at Double-A Somerset on Tuesday after his fractured right foot began bothering him in the first inning. After getting checked out by team doctors Wednesday, he will officially be pulled off his rehab assignment and shut down from all activity for the next seven days. Next steps for the 35-year-old infielder will be determined once his seven days are up, though it seems his target return date will be pushed back well into May. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Randy Arozarena goes deep in victory over Tigers
Randy Arozarena clubbed his third home run of the season on Wednesday, helping to propel the Rays to victory over the Tigers.

Advice: Arozarena got the Rays on the board in the home half of the first inning, blasting a game-tying 397-foot (105.0 mph EV) solo shot off of Jack Flaherty. The 29-year-old outfielder went down on strikes in each of his other three at-bats on the night, finishing the evening 1-for-4. His 2024 season is off to a brutal start offensively, slashing an anemic .158/.223/.263 with three homers, seven RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

  • Blown save spoils would-be win
Lopez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks across seven innings against Miami. He struck out six.

Advice: Lopez delivered another quality start Wednesday, exiting the contest with Atlanta ahead 3-1. However, Raisel Iglesias surrendered a pair of runs in the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings, spoiling Lopez's chance at a third straight win. Lopez has been one of the more surprising stars of the 2024 campaign, owning a 0.72 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in four starts (25.0 innings). He's slated to make his next start in Seattle during a three-game series early next week. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Garrett Cleavinger secures second save Wednesday
Garrett Cleavinger secured his second save of the season on Wednesday night, working a scoreless ninth inning against the Tigers to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Rays’ manager Kevin Cash turned to Jason Adam in the seventh inning of this one, and he got six outs to get the lead to the ninth. That’s when Cash turned to the 30-year-old southpaw to finish it out. He did allow a two-out walk to Jake Rogers to bring the tying run to the plate, but was able to get Riley Greene to fly out to center to end it. Expect Cleavinger, Adam and Colin Poche to continue to handle the late-inning work while Pete Fairbanks is shelved. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago
  • Struggles as opener
Sanchez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over 2.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: While the outing was Sanchez's first start since 2020, he operated in an opening capacity, being yanked after 59 pitches. He was shaky in the first inning, giving up a walk to Ronald Acuna and a single to Michael Harris to open up the game. With runners on first and third, Sanchez inexplicably tried a pick-off move to second base, allowing Acuna to score on a balk for the first score of a two-run inning. After giving up a run in each of his first four appearances this season, Sanchez looked to be turning the corner, posting three consecutive scoreless outings before Wednesday's poor start. In 10.0 innings, Sanchez owns a 7.20 ERA and a 6:4 K:BB. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Tyler Alexander strikes out four against Tigers
Tyler Alexander pitched decently against his former team on Wednesday night, giving up two runs on three hits over four frames in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Advice: The 29-year-old southpaw struck out four batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. All of the scoring done against him came on a two-out, two-run single off the bat of Mark Canha in the fifth inning. Alexander got just five swings and misses on 56 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll carry a 4.74 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and a 20/7 K/BB ratio (24 2/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
