Steve Pearce (wrist) is aiming to return Wednesday.

Advice: Pearce got a cortisone shot in his sore right wrist on Saturday and told reporters Monday that he already feels much better. The Orioles have already clinched the American League East, so they can play it safe. Rotoworld.com

  • Chris Young moved to the Mariners' bullpen
Chris Young has been moved to the Mariners' bullpen.

Advice: The veteran right-hander was scheduled to make his final regular-season start on Thursday against the Blue Jays, but the M's need to rack up as many victories as possible over this final week and aren't confident right now about what Young might give them. He had a great first half, but Young was lit up for seven runs in just three innings Saturday by a weak Astros team and owns an 8.35 ERA over his last five outings. Rotoworld.com

  • Markakis (shoulder) returns to Orioles lineup
Nick Markakis (shoulder) is back in the Orioles' starting lineup on Monday against the Yankees.

Advice: It'll be his first start since taking a pitch off his right shoulder last Tuesday. Markakis is batting .272/.336/.375 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI in 149 games this season for the American League East champions. Rotoworld.com

  • Matt Carpenter (stomach) back in STL lineup
Matt Carpenter (illness) is back in the Cardinals' starting lineup Monday against the Cubs.

Advice: Carpenter sat out Saturday and Sunday due to a stomach bug that has made its way around the Cardinals' clubhouse. He'll bat leadoff and play third base Monday. Rotoworld.com

  • Teixeira (wrist) out of Yankees' lineup Mon.
Mark Teixeira (wrist) is out of the Yankees' starting lineup again on Monday night.

  • Ubaldo to start for Orioles on Tuesday vs. NY
Ubaldo Jimenez will start for the Orioles on Tuesday night against the Yankees.

Advice: Jimenez actually pitched pretty well in the Orioles' AL East clincher last week, limiting the Blue Jays to two runs over five innings. But it was his first start in a month and the 30-year-old right-hander owns a rough 4.90 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 119 1/3 total frames this season. He's not a good fantasy streamer. Rotoworld.com

  • Jennings (knee) won't play during final week
Desmond Jennings (knee) is done for the season.

Advice: Jennings has been on the shelf since August 28 due to discomfort in his left knee. It's beginning to show improvement, but the Rays aren't going to rush him back for the final week. "It's gotten better, it's coming along," Jennings told reporters Sunday evening. "I was worried at first, I'm not really as worried now." Rotoworld.com

  • Domonic Brown (hand) able to pinch-hit
Domonic Brown (hand) struck out as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Brown was left out of the starting lineup for a third straight game due to a right hand injury and will probably remain limited over the final week of the regular season. It's been a hugely disappointing summer for the 27-year-old outfielder, who's batting .236/.287/.355 with only 10 home runs in 138 games. Rotoworld.com
    Today, 5:35 am
  • Benoit (shoulder) impressive in return Sunday
Joaquin Benoit (shoulder) tossed a perfect inning Sunday in his first appearance since August 26.

Advice: Benoit missed close to a month with a right shoulder injury. He struck out two of the three batters he faced Sunday in his return to action and could rack up another save or two before the 2014 regular season comes to a close. Benoit owns a stellar 1.55 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 62/14 K/BB ratio in 52 1/3 innings this season. Rotoworld.com

  • Welingon Castillo (ribs) homers in return
Welington Castillo (ribs) homered Sunday in his return to the Cubs' starting lineup.

Advice: It was an eighth-inning solo shot off Dodgers reliever Pedro Baez. Castillo suffered a right rib contusion on Friday, but it's obviously feeling better now. The 27-year-old catcher has 12 home runs this season. Rotoworld.com
    Today, 1:12 am

  • Alex Avila (concussion) could return Monday
Alex Avila (concussion) took batting practice and plated in a simulated game on Sunday without any issues.

Advice: As long as he receives the proper medical clearance on Monday, there's a strong chance that he'll rejoin the Tigers starting lineup for the opener of a three-game set against the White Sox. Rotoworld.com

  • Mat Latos shut down for remainder of 2014
Mat Latos (elbow) has been shut down for the remainder of the 2014 season.

Advice: Latos, who has missed a large chunk of the 2014 campaign due to various injuries, is struggling to recover from a bone bruise in his right elbow. He'll finish the season 5-5 with a 3.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 74/23 K/BB ratio over 102 1/3 innings. Daniel Corcino will get the ball in his place again on Wednesday against the Brewers. Rotoworld.com

  • Jay Bruce clobbers two homers to down Cards
Jay Bruce clobbered a pair of home runs and drove home three, leading the Reds to a 7-2 victory over the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Advice: Bruce opened up the game's scoring with a solo blast off opposing starter Lance Lynn in the fourth inning, chipped in an RBI single in the sixth and added his second long ball in the eighth inning. It's been a disappointing year for the 27-year-old slugger, hitting just .217/.283/.377 with 18 homers and 65 RBI. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 9:12 pm
  • McHugh turns in quality start in win over M's
Collin McHugh allowed three runs over six innings in a win over the Mariners on Sunday.

Advice: McHugh gave up just four hits on the afternoon, with Michael Saunders' two-run homer doing most of the damage against him. McHugh walked just one while striking out six. McHugh still hasn't lost since the month of July, and he's now 11-9 with a 2.73 ERA on the year. The right-hander has one final start left in his stellar 2014 campaign, facing the Mets on Saturday. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 4:03 pm
  • Nick Markakis (shoulder) out again Sunday
Nick Markakis (shoulder) remained out of the lineup Sunday.

Advice: Markakis hasn't played since being hit on the right shoulder by a pitch Tuesday. He underwent a precautionary X-ray, which didn't reveal anything serious. The injury not a big concern, as the Orioles are just being cautious since they've already wrapped up the American League East. Rotoworld.com
    Yesterday, 8:00 am
  • Steve Pearce to sit Sunday
Steve Pearce will sit for at least the next couple of days after receiving a cortisone shot for his sore right wrist on Saturday.

Advice: That should mean a couple of more starts for Christian Walker, who hit his first big-league homer as the fill-in first baseman tonight. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 7:21 pm
  • Young shelled in blowout loss to Astros
Chris Young allowed seven runs on eight hits in just three innings in the Mariners' 10-1 loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: The Astros were batting Young around from the start in this one. They put up four runs in the first frame thanks to two-run homers by Chris Carter and Alex Presley and an RBI single to Jose Altuve in the second. When Young gave up back-to-back solo home runs to Matt Dominguez and Carlos Corporan to start the fourth, he was promptly yanked. In the end, he managed to last just three innings, striking out three, walking one and surrendering eight hits. The loss comes at a bad time for the M's, who are in a tight race with Oakland and Kansas City for the final two wildcard spots. Young's been a rock in the Mariner rotation, but he has been slightly more hittable since the All Star Break (3.15 ERA/.208 BAA in first half, 3.73 ERA/.264 BAA in second half) and this outing won't help those numbers. He'll take a 3.65 ERA into his last start of the season against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 6:56 pm
  • Mark Teixeira wants to keep playing
Mark Teixeira wants to finish out the season and is looking to get another cortisone injection for his right wrist.

Advice: Teixeira left Saturday's game due to soreness in the wrist, which has caused him problems for a couple of years now. The Yankees are huge long shots to progress to the playoffs at this point, so Teixeira might be better off just taking the final week to rest. He's rather not, though. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 4:59 pm
  • Mark Teixeira out with wrist soreness
Mark Teixeira exited Saturday's game because of renewed soreness in his troublesome right wrist.

Advice: It might be time for Teixeira to shut it down. Brendan Ryan replaced him at first base today. The Yankees could give Brian McCann some starts there during the final week, opening up time for Francisco Cervelli, John Ryan Murphy and Austin Romine behind the plate. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 3:22 pm
  • Steve Pearce scratched with wrist injury
Steve Pearce was scratched from the Orioles starting lineup on Saturday due to a sore right wrist.

Advice: The injury is believed to be minor, the Orioles are simply playing things cautiously. The 31-year-old is having a breakout season, slashing .297/.376/.557 with 20 homers and 48 RBI in his 98 games. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 3:16 pm
  • Carpenter, Adams sit with stomach illness
Matt Carpenter and Matt Adams are not in the Cardinals starting lineup on Saturday due to a stomach illness.

Advice: Yadier Molina will get the start at first base in place of Adams, with Daniel Descalso covering third for Carpenter. They should be considered day-to-day and are likely to return to the lineup on Sunday. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 1:36 pm
  • Nick Markakis not in O's lineup on Saturday
Nick Markakis (shoulder) remains out of the Orioles starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Markakis said Saturday that he's feeling better, but will take an additional day off just to be sure. He should be expected to retake his regular spot atop the Orioles lineup for Sunday's series finale. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 12:41 pm
  • Welington Castillo (ribs) not in Cubs lineup
Welington Castillo (ribs) is not in the Cubs starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Castillo exited Friday's game in the first inning after sustaining a right rib contusion. John Baker will get the call behind the dish and hit eighth against Roberto Hernandez on Saturday. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 7:34 am
  • Alex Avila (concussion) remains out of lineup
Alex Avila (concussion) remains out of the Tigers starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Avila continues to battle concussion-like symptoms and was disoriented when attempting to take swings on Thursday and Friday. Bryan Holaday will take his place behind the dish on Saturday and will continue to share time with rookie James McCann until Avila returns. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 7:25 am
  • Domonic Brown dealing with sprained hand
Domonic Brown was a late scratch to the Phillies starting lineup on Friday due to a sprained right hand.

Advice: He should be considered day-to-day for now, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Phillies take things extremely cautiously with him down the stretch. The 27-year-old is hitting a disappointing .237/.288/.356 on the season with 10 homers and 61 RBI. Rotoworld.com
    Saturday, 5:50 am
  • Avila tries to swing bat, feels 'disoriented'
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said that Alex Avila (concussion) felt "disoriented" when he tried taking some swings Thursday and Friday.

Advice: Avila is sitting out Friday for the 10th time in 17 games this month due to post-concussion issues, and it sounds like, if anything, his symptoms are getting worse. With just over a week left in the season, he might not make it back. James McCann is getting the start behind the dish Friday, and he'll share time with Bryan Holaday while Avila is out. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 2:12 pm
  • Welington Castillo has rib contusion
Welington Castillo has been diagnosed with a left rib contusion.

Advice: Castillo exited Friday's game in the first inning with the injury. He'll be re-evaluated before it's determined how much time he might miss. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 1:12 pm
  • Alex Avila (concussion) out again Friday
Alex Avila (concussion) remained out of the Tigers' lineup Friday.

Advice: Avila has dealt with post-concussion issues for a good chunk of September, starting just nine of a possible 16 games. He'll miss the first game of the huge three-game set against the Royals and it's not clear when he'll return to action. James McCann is behind the dish Friday. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 12:56 pm
  • Markakis (shoulder) out again on Friday
Nick Markakis (shoulder) remained out of the Orioles' lineup Friday.

Advice: Markakis has now missed two straight starts after being hit on the right shoulder by a pitch on Tuesday. He hasn't needed to undergo any tests but noted that it hurts to lift his arm above his head. He's hoping to return on Saturday. Steve Pearce is in right field again Friday, with Christian Walker covering first base. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 12:35 pm
  • Welington Castillo exits with back injury
Welington Castillo left Friday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent back injury.

Advice: Castillo appeared to tweak his back in the top of the first inning and was pinch-hit for by Rafael Lopez in the bottom of the frame. The Cubs should have more on Castillo's status later Friday. Rotoworld.com
    Friday, 12:02 pm
  • Padres could ease Benoit into closer role
The Padres could ease Joaquin Benoit (shoulder) back into game action before using him in save situations.

Advice: Benoit is expected to be available out of the bullpen starting on Friday after missing the last few weeks with a shoulder issue. With the veteran reliever likely to pitch in a low-leverage situation or two before returning to the ninth inning, fantasy owners shouldn't drop Kevin Quackenbush just yet. Rotoworld.com
    Thursday, 3:56 pm
  • Teixeira (wrist) goes 0-for-3 in return Wed.
Mark Teixeira (wrist) went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Teixeira sat out Tuesday with discomfort in his surgically-repaired wrist. He told reporters that he's committed to playing through the pain through the end of the season and will then undergo a full examination to determine what sort of offseason treatment is necessary. The 34-year-old first baseman is batting .217/.320/.400 with 21 homers and 58 RBI in 116 games. Rotoworld.com
    Thursday, 5:45 am
  • Mark Teixeira returned to action on Wednesday September 17. Rotoworld.com
    Thursday, 1:58 am
  • OF Brown has 2 hits in win agaisnt Padres
Domonic Brown went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Phillies' win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: It's been a long, lonely, treacherous season for the 2013 revelation. But he just finished off a solid series at Petco, going 4-for-11 (.363) with a homer and a steal. Hey, his owners will take whatever they can get at this point. Brown, slashing .234/.286/.353, is very likely playing out the string on his Phillies' career. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported earlier this month that the Phillies will look to trade Brown this winter. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 10:37 pm
  • Pearce homers twice as Orioles stay hot
Steve Pearce swatted a pair of home runs and knocked in four runs in Wednesday's victory against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Pearce broke a scoreless tie with a solo shot off of J.A. Happ in the third inning, then made it 4-0 with a three-run shot off of Happ in the fifth. The 31-year-old journeyman now has 20 home runs, 48 RBI, and a .297/.375/.560 slash line. The Orioles, who clinched the AL East on Tuesday, have won 17 of their last 21 contests. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 7:43 pm
  • Avila (head) out of Tigers' lineup again Wed.
Alex Avila (head) is absent from the Tigers' starting lineup again on Wednesday night.

Advice: Avila hasn't played since taking a foul tip off his mask on Sunday. He has a history of concussions, so the Tigers are treating the situation carefully. Bryan Holaday will start at catcher against the Twins. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 1:49 pm
  • Teixeira (wrist) back in Yankees' lineup Wed.
Mark Teixeira (wrist) is back in the Yankees' starting lineup on Wednesday night.

Advice: Teixeira missed Tuesday night's game due to wrist discomfort. It's apparently a manageable issue. He's playing first base and batting cleanup versus the Rays. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 1:15 pm
  • Jay Bruce getting a breather Wednesday
Jay Bruce is not in the Reds' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: Manager Bryan Price evidently wasn't pleased with his team's effort during a one-hit shutout Tuesday, and he's responded by benching every regular. Wednesday's starter for the Cubs, Kyle Hendricks, makes for a fine streaming option. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 12:47 pm
  • Nick Markakis not in Wednesday's lineup
Nick Markakis is not in the Orioles' lineup Wednesday.

Advice: The Orioles are actually starting most of their regulars a day after capturing the American League East crown, but Markakis is getting a breather. He's earned it, having started 141 of a possible 151 games this season. Rotoworld.com
    Wednesday, 12:45 pm
  • Eaton enjoys four-hit night against Royals
Adam Eaton had a huge night Tuesday, finishing 4-for-5 with a double, triple and two runs scored in a win over the Royals.

Advice: Eaton followed up a 3-for-5 game with an even better performance, falling a home run shy of the cycle. Perhaps most remarkably, none of Eaton's four hits managed to drive in a run. The outfielder did score two runs himself, giving him 71 runs scored to go with a .303/.367/.403 line on the year. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 10:00 pm
  • Jimenez battles shaky control to help clinch
Ubaldo Jimenez got the win, allowing two runs over five innings, as the Orioles clinched the AL East with an 8-2 victory against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: It was Jimenez's first start in exactly a month, and he battled his shaky control as he has all season long. But the Jays couldn't capitalize, and Jimenez allowed just the two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out six. Though the Orioles have clinched, it's unlikely Jimenez starts again this season. He sits on a 4.90 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 110/74 K/BB ratio. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 7:34 pm
  • Pearce's 3-run homer powers O's to clincher
Steve Pearce's first-inning three-run home run gave the Orioles a lead they would not relinquish as they clinched the AL East with a win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Pearce put the O's up 3-1 with the jack in the first off of Drew Hutchison. It was perhaps the most poetic way for the Orioles to clinch, as Pearce has been a key contributor who came out of nowhere, in a season in which the club has gotten little out of Matt Wieters, Manny Machado, and Chris Davis. Pearce now has 18 home runs, 44 RBI, and a .294/.371/.541 slash line. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 7:24 pm
  • Benoit (shoulder) shooting for Friday return
Joaquin Benoit (shoulder) could rejoin the Padres' bullpen on Friday.

Advice: Benoit threw a bullpen session Sunday with no issues and will throw another 'pen session Wednesday. If that goes well, he'll be cleared to return to action. It remains to be seen whether the reliever will immediately regain his closer job, but he certainly needs to be owned in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 4:15 pm
  • Mat Latos (elbow) plays catch with no issues
Mat Latos (elbow) played catch with no issues on Tuesday.

Advice: It's the first time he's thrown since he was scratched from Friday's start with a bone bruise in his right elbow. Reds manager Bryan Price indicated over the weekend that Latos is unlikely to return this season, and that's probably still the case given how little time is left. Still, it seems like the door hasn't been shut yet. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 3:54 pm
  • Teixeira sits Tuesday due to wrist discomfort
Mark Teixeira is out of the Yankees' starting lineup on Tuesday due to lingering wrist discomfort.

Advice: Yankees manager Joe Girardi told reporters that he'll rely on Teixeira to tell the team when he's ready to return. It's a day-to-day situation for now. Teixeira had surgery on that same wrist last season. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 2:06 pm
  • Avila (head) out of DET lineup again Tuesday
Alex Avila (head) is out of the Tigers' starting lineup again on Tuesday night.

Advice: Avila took a foul tip off his mask on Sunday, so he was held out Monday and Bryan Holaday will get another start behind the plate Tuesday versus the Twins. Avila has a history of concussions, so the Tigers are going to play it safe with him down the stretch. Rotoworld.com
    Tuesday, 1:42 pm
  • McHugh exits game after taking comebacker
Collin McHugh left Monday's start versus the Indians with a bruised left forearm.

Advice: McHugh took a comebacker off the bat of Lonnie Chisenhall to force his exit. He was in the midst of another excellent outing, yielding just one unearned run on five hits and no walks while striking out seven. The Astros expect McHugh to be ready for his next start. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 7:45 pm
  • Alex Avila (head) not in Monday's lineup
Alex Avila (head) is not in Monday's lineup against the Twins.

Advice: Avila left Sunday's game with lightheadedness after taking a foul tip off the mark. The Tigers aren't going to take any chances, given his history. Bryan Holaday will start behind the plate. Rotoworld.com
    Monday, 1:28 pm
  • Pearce has two hits, game-tying RBI in win
Steve Pearce went 2-for-4 and drove home the tying run with an RBI double in the ninth inning of Sunday's come-from-behind victory over the Yankees.

Advice: Pearce, who will continue to function as the Orioles primary first baseman for the remainder of the season, is now hitting .290/.365/.532 with 17 homers and 40 RBI over 93 games in what has been a breakthrough season for the 31-year-old. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 14, 8:37 pm
  • Young allows two runs over six, takes loss
Chris Young allowed just two runs over six innings but took the loss against the Athletics Sunday.

Advice: Young limited the A's to just four hits, with a pair of solo home runs serving as the two runs to cross the plate on Young's watch. He dropped to 12-8 with the loss, but Young has a 3.33 ERA on the year. He'll try to get back in the win column Friday at the Astros. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 14, 5:15 pm
  • Alex Avila leaves game with lightheadedness
Alex Avila left Sunday's game against the Indians with lightheadedness.

Advice: Avila took yet another foul tip off his mask in Sunday's contest. While he didn't display concussion-like symptoms, the Tigers opted to play things cautiously given his history. He is likely to receive an off-day on Monday as well. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 14, 4:39 pm
  • Joaquin Benoit (shoulder) nearing a return
Joaquin Benoit (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Sunday.

Advice: He's expected to need only one additional 'pen session after that before being cleared to return to action. It's not clear whether Benoit will immediately regain his closer job or be eased back into things, but fantasy owners should scoop him up now if they're in need of saves. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 14, 8:05 am
  • Mat Latos (elbow) likely done for the season
Reds manager Bryan Price indicated Saturday that Mat Latos (elbow) is unlikely to return this season.

Advice: Latos was scratched from Friday's start with a bone bruise in his right elbow. While it doesn't seem like a long-term concern, there's no reason for the Reds to push him to return with so little time left in the season. "We're not going to try to force feed Mat his last few starts if he's not feeling really good," Price said. "It doesn't make much sense for us. I'd like him to pitch, but I don't want to exacerbate an existing issue. He'll have to come quite a ways to make that next start." Rotoworld.com
    Sep 14, 7:25 am
  • Avila slugs go-ahead HR, Tigers stay in first
Alex Avila slugged a go-ahead two-run homer in the Tigers' 5-4 defeat of the Indians on Saturday.

Advice: Detroit was trailing 4-3 when Avila took Bryan Shaw deep in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was his only hit of the night, but it helped keep the Tigers at the top of the American League Central standings (by a half-game over the Royals). Avila is batting .222/.329/.371 with 11 home runs and 47 RBI in 117 games this season. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 13, 7:44 pm
  • Pearce homers in loss to Yankees
Steve Pearce went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: It was his 17th homer of the season and his first since August 28. We've been waiting for Pearce to slow down all year, but he now owns an impressive .287/.364/.529 batting line across 93 games. He has gone from a part-time player to a lineup staple. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 13, 3:12 pm
  • Ubaldo Jimenez to start for O's on Tuesday
Ubaldo Jimenez will make a spot start for the Orioles on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: With Saturday's doubleheader, the Orioles will need to utilize a sixth starter next week and Jimenez gets the call. Since his move to the bullpen, the big right-hander has continued to struggle, allowing four runs in his 4 1/3 innings (8.31 ERA) with a 6/4 K/BB ratio. He should be avoided for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 13, 7:53 am
  • Domonic Brown returns to lineup with two hits
Domonic Brown (shoulder) returned to action on Friday, going 2-for-4 in an extra-inning victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Brown left Wednesday's game with a left shoulder contusion sustained after diving for a ball in the outfield, then sat out Thursday's contest as a precautionary measure. After a breakout 2013 season, the 2014 campaign hasn't been as kind to the 27-year-old outfielder as he's slashing just .233/.285/.349 with nine homers and 59 RBI. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 13, 2:00 am
  • No timetable for Mat Latos' (elbow) return
There is no timetable for Mat Latos's (elbow).

Advice: Latos developed a bone bruise in his throwing elbow while pitching. It doesn't sound like a long-term concern, but with so little time left in the season, his status is very much up in the air. "Hopefully, it's a one week thing and I can make my next start," Latos said. Daniel Corcino is starting Friday in Latos' place. Rotoworld.com
    Sep 12, 2:12 pm
  • Latos scratched with bone bruise in elbow
Mat Latos has been scratched from Friday's scheduled start versus the Brewers due to a bone bruise in his right elbow.

Advice: There's been no indication that the ailment is related to the elbow issue that caused him to get a late start to the season. However, it's also not clear whether the injury might cause him to miss additional starts. The Reds should provide more on his status later Friday. Daniel Corcino is making a spot start in Latos' place. Rotoworld.com
