• Kerry Carpenter delivers triple, double in victory
Kerry Carpenter tripled and doubled before being lifted for a pinch-hitter Tuesday as the Tigers topped the Rangers 4-2.

Advice: The move to pull Carpenter against a lefty reliever in a tie game in the eighth worked out. Matt Vierling came in and blooped a single into right (he actually thought he popped up the ball in the infield), and the Tigers went on to score twice in the inning. Carpenter is hitting .302/.362/.558 in 48 plate appearances this season. It sounded like the plan going in was for him to see some action against lefties this year, but he has just two plate appearances against them. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
  • Parker Meadows finishes hitless against Rangers
After sitting out two of the previous three games, Parker Meadows finished 0-for-3 with a strikeout against the Rangers on Tuesday.

Advice: Meadows sat out those two games even though he’s a lefty and the Tigers were facing righties. He’s now 2-for-36 to start the year, and he has the horrible exit velocity numbers to back it up. The Tigers might need to send him back to Triple-A for a spell so that he can regain some confidence. If they go that route, possibly when Andy Ibáñez comes off the IL, then Wenceel Pérez and Matt Vierling would play center. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago
  • On bench Tuesday
Stewart is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Stewart was held out of the lineup the past two games with the Mets facing left-handed starters, but he's sitting again Tuesday with righty Jared Jones pitching for Pittsburgh. Francisco Alvarez will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Omar Narvaez receives a start behind the plate. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago
  • Tyler O’Neill (concussion) not in lineup on Tue.
Tyler O’Neill (concussion) is not in the Red Sox starting lineup against the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Cora should give an update on O’Neill later this afternoon. The Red Sox outfielder collided with Rafael Devers on a fly ball in left field during Monday’s game against Cleveland and was placed in concussion protocol. The team doesn’t believe O’Neill will need to go on the injured list, but the 28-year-old will be sidelined until he clears protocol. Rotoworld Today, 11:54 am

  • Sitting Tuesday
O'Neill (head) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old is going through the concussion protocol after colliding in the outfield with Rafael Devers on Monday, and O'Neill will sit at least one game as he continues to be evaluated. He received eight stitches above his left eye, and O'Neill should be considered day-to-day until it's determined whether or not a trip to the 7-day injured list is necessary. • Remains out of lineup
Bryant (back/ribs) remained out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: It's the third straight start Bryant has missed after he had to be removed from Saturday's game versus the Blue Jays due to soreness in his right ribcage and back. The Rockies will roll with Charlie Blackmon at designated hitter, Elehuris Montero at first base and Michael Toglia in right field. Rotowire.com Today, 10:40 am

  • Twins recall Trevor Larnach from Triple-A St. Paul
Twins recalled Trevor Larnach from Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Larnach will take Matt Wallner’s spot on the 26-man roster. The 27-year-old played in 58 games for the Twins last season and had a .727 OPS with eight homers and 40 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 9:11 am
  • Twins option Matt Wallner to Triple-A St. Paul
Twins optioned Matt Wallner to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Wallner will head down to the minors after going 2-for-25 in his first 13 games with the Twins this season. The 26-year-old had a solid rookie season with a .249/.370/.507 slashing line in 76 games, so it’s disappointing to see the young outfielder struggle this much in his second major league season. • Beginning rehab stint Thursday
Lowe (oblique) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Best of all, Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Lowe might not need too much time at Triple-A given how well he's been feeling. Lowe has been playing in games at extended spring training, and it sounds like he's moved past the Grade 1 right oblique strain that shelved him to begin the season. A return before the end of April would seem to be back on the table for Lowe, who hit 20 homers and stole 32 bases in a breakout 2023 campaign. Rotowire.com Today, 9:06 am
