  • Notches second save
Leasure threw 1.1 shutout innings and earned a save against Cleveland on Friday.

Advice: Leasure fired 12 of 16 pitches for strikes to quickly finish off the 6-3 victory. He's converted two of his three save chances this season, with both conversions coming in his last six appearances. Leasure lowered his ERA to 2.20 with an 11:6 K:BB through 16.1 innings. Michael Kopech was seemingly unavailable after pitching Wednesday and Thursday. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago
  • Four hits, homer in win
Bellinger went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-2 victory over the Pirates.

Advice: Bellinger opened the scoring in the first inning, launching a solo shot off an 0-2 pitch from Jared Jones to give the Cubs an early lead. The 28-year-old Bellinger is now 7-for-13 with a pair of home runs in three games since returning from the IL. Overall, he's slashing .268/.345/.536 with seven homers, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored through 25 games this season. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago
  • Punches out 11
Crochet (3-4) yielded five hits over six shutout frames Friday, striking out 11 and earning a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Crochet carved through Cleveland's lineup with ease Friday, setting new career bests with 11 strikeouts and 21 whiffs. He seems to be fully back on track after struggling during the middle of April. He gave up 17 runs over an ugly three-start stretch but has allowed just three runs while registering a 24:1 K:BB over his last three outings. Crochet lowered his season ERA to 4.63 with an outstanding 64:9 K:BB through 46.2 frames. He's currently in line for a home matchup with the Nationals next week. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Mariners calling Bryan Woo’s exit precautionary
The Mariners announced the Bryan Woo’s exit from Friday’s start against the Athletics was precautionary.

Advice: That’s as far as the information went in the update. No word on what exactly occurred or if Woo might need to miss any additional time. It’s good to see that they’re taking every possible precaution with the 24-year-old hurler though. Expect the Mariners to provide another update on Woo’s status on Saturday. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Cursed by long ball
Quintana (1-4) yielded four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Advice: All four runs against Quintana came in the third inning when he coughed up three homers. Prior to Friday's outing, he'd allowed just three home runs through 36.1 innings this season. Quintana's ERA has jumped from 3.48 to 5.44 after giving up 12 runs in his last two appearances. His next start is lined up to be in Philadelphia next week. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago
  • Cole Irvin downs Diamondbacks, improves to 4-1
Cole Irvin threw 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs Friday in the Orioles’ 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Irvin got the win and moved to 4-1 with a 2.90 ERA. He wasn’t supposed to still be in the Orioles rotation with Kyle Bradish and John Means back, but the Grayson Rodriguez and Tyler Wells injuries changed things, and Irvin is making a case to stick after Rodriguez returns. The Orioles might go to a six-man rotation for a time in order to lighten the load. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Craig Kimbrel pitches perfect seventh for hold
Craig Kimbrel protected a one-run lead in the seventh inning Friday against the Diamondbacks, striking out one in a perfect inning.

Advice: This wasn’t exactly a low-pressure situation for the struggling Kimbrel, but the Orioles did manage to get him in against the bottom of the Arizona lineup. Kimbrel retired Blaze Alexander, Kevin Newman and then leadoff man Ketel Marte in order. One or two more similar outings might get him another chance in the ninth. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
  • Yennier Cano records second save versus D-backs
Yennier Cano got his second save Friday after working a scoreless ninth versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Orioles are giving Craig Kimbrel a break, so Cano is the clear favorite for saves in the pen for the short term. If Kimbrel has any meltdowns in the near future, Cano might take on the closer’s role permanently. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
  • Brandon Pfaadt goes without a strikeout in loss
Brandon Pfaadt dropped to 1-3 after allowing three runs in six innings Friday against the Orioles.

Advice: Pfaadt managed to turn in a solid outing despite going without a strikeout tonight. He had never fanned fewer than three batters in 26 major league starts. Pfaadt’s ERA stands at 4.60. His 42/8 K/BB ratio in 47 innings is nice, but he’s looking a little too hittable with his velocity down one mph from last year. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
