• Goes on IL
The Cubs placed Wisdom (back) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: According to MLB.com , manager Craig Counsell said Wisdom was able to resume baseball activities before spring training came to a close, so the veteran corner infielder might not be too far away from starting a minor-league rehab assignment. Counsell said he expects Wisdom to return from the IL around mid-April. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Yankees put DJ LeMahieu (foot) on 10-day IL
Yankees placed INF DJ LeMahieu on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with a right foot contusion.

Advice: No surprise here as it became apparent earlier this week that LeMahieu wasn’t going to be ready for Opening Day, which led to New York acquiring versatile utility specialist Jon Berti in a trade with the Marlins. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

  • Ibanez drives in winning run against White Sox
Andy Ibanez went 1-for-2 with an RBI during Thursday’s victory over the White Sox.

Advice: The RBI was a sac fly that scored Javier Baez in the third inning. It was the only run either team scored in a game that featured fantastic pitching from Tarik Skubal and Garrett Crochet and less-than-spectacular offense from either club. Ibanez hit at the top of the lineup Thursday, and he’ll likely get a chance to do it against left-handed pitching for the foreseeable future. Even still, the fantasy upside is rather limited. • Jake Burger has three hits, plates three in loss
Jake Burger went 3-for-4 with three RBI on Thursday in the Marlins’ Opening Day loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Burger extended Miami’s early lead with a two-run single in the third inning before adding a sacrifice fly a couple frames later. The 27-year-old corner infielder has settled in nicely as a run-producing, middle-of-the-order mainstay for the Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 5:15 pm
  • Awaiting MRI results
Lewis (quadriceps) underwent an MRI and is awaiting results after exiting Thursday's game against the Royals, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: Lewis was forced to exit the game after injuring himself running the bases in the third inning. He described the issue as feeling like a cramp, though nothing official has been announced. Lewis's status will become clearer once the results of the MRI are known. Rotowire.com Today, 4:28 pm
  • Yandy Díaz has three hits in loss on Thursday
Yandy Díaz racks up three hits and two RBI in a losing effort against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: Díaz crushed a first-inning home run off of Jose Berrios that went 355 feet and was 107.2 mph off the bat. As for the all-important conversation around Díaz, the launch angle on the home run was 19 degrees. He had another well-hit fly ball out and then rounded out his day with a bloop single and double that both had launch angles of 20 degrees or better but neither was hit harder than 82 mph. It will be an ongoing observation to see if Díaz can ever make good on his elite batted-ball quality; however, that shouldn’t overshadow that he continues to rack up hits and knock in runs at the top of the Rays’ lineup. • Maikel Garcia homers in Opening Day loss
Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Royals’ loss to the Twins on Opening Day on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia got the fun started in the bottom of the first inning with a 398-foot home run off Pablo López that left the bat at 99.2 mph. Despite not getting another hit in the game, he also had a 105.2 mph lineout and a 101.2 mph fly out that went 395 feet, so he was seeing the ball incredibly well on Thursday. Now set as the leadoff hitter for the Royals, Garcia could be in for a breakout season.
