    • Moves into rotation
The Rockies announced Friday that Lambert will enter the starting rotation while Kyle Freeland (elbow) is on the injured list, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Lambert failed to make the Rockies' rotation out of spring training, but Freeland's injury will give the 27-year-old righty another opportunity. Lambert has appeared in six games this year, surrendering three earned runs across 11.2 innings while striking out 10 batters and walking six. He's in line to make his first start in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus Seattle. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

    • Falls to Cincinnati
Anderson (2-2) took the loss Friday against the Reds, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Anderson was sharp Friday, holding Cincinnati to an unearned run in the second inning before Tyler Stephenson homered in the sixth. However, the Angels could only muster a lone run off Nick Lodolo before the Reds broke the game open against the bullpen, sticking Anderson with a second straight loss. The left-hander has gone seven innings in three of his first four starts this year, posting an impressive 1.42 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB after struggling to a 5.43 ERA in 25 starts last season. Anderson will look to snap his brief losing streak in his next outing, currently slated for next week against Baltimore. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
    • Peter Lambert moving to Rockies’ starting rotation
Rockies’ manager Bud Black announced Friday that Peter Lambert will take the injured Kyle Freeland’s spot in the team’s starting rotation.

Advice: Lambert has done a decent job out of the Rockies’ bullpen this season, registering a 2.31 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 10/6 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings of work. Noah Davis — who was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday — will take over Lambert’s long-relief role. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Homer, three steals in win
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, three stolen bases and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-1 victory over the Angels.

Advice: De La Cruz turned a two-out single into the Reds' first run in the second inning, stealing second base before swiping third and scoring on an errant throw. The 22-year-old shortstop would add a third stolen base in the fourth before breaking the game open with a three-run homer off Jose Cisnero in the eighth. De La Cruz has lived up to expectations early this year -- he's now slashing .290/.364/.638 with six homers, 18 runs scored and 14 RBI while going 10-for-12 in stolen base attempts. • Brayan Bello shuts out Pirates for six in victory
Brayan Bello tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, as the Red Sox topped the Pirates 8-1 on Friday.

Advice: Bello struck out seven and walked two while completing six innings for the first time in five starts this season. He’s now 3-1 with a 3.04 ERA and a 26/7 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings. Next up is a start in Cleveland against the Guardians. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Quinn Priester gives up five runs to Red Sox
Making his 2024 debut, Quinn Priester surrendered five runs — four earned — in 4 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Priester had more homers surrendered (three) than strikeouts (two), which is never good. It really should have been worse and would have been if not for Masataka Yoshida getting thrown out at home with no outs in the second. Priester was slated to remain in the rotation with Marco Gonzales and get another start next week, but the Pirates could send him down for a fresh arm if needed. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Wilyer Abreu goes 3-for-4, hits first homer
Wilyer Abreu went 3-for-5 with a homer and a double against the Pirates in Friday’s win.

Advice: The double just missed being a second homer. Abreu had an ugly spring with a chance to win a starting job and then opened the regular season 2-for-18 with nine strikeouts, something that could have led to an early demotion. However, he’s 8-for-25 with five extra-base hits, four walks and four steals in his last eight games, raising his season OPS to .722. If he keeps hitting, he could be an everyday guy, especially now that Ceddanne Rafaela is needed in the infield. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Ceddanne Rafaela homers, steals base in win
Ceddanne Rafaela collected his first homer, drove in a run on a groundout and stole a base Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Rafaela has not been having very good at-bats, but he’s not going anywhere. He’s Boston’s best defensive center fielder, probably also their best defensive shortstop with Trevor Story down and the eight-year extension he signed last week means there’s no incentive for ever returning him to the minors. Mixed-league value isn’t there yet, but perhaps it will be in the second half. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Improves to 2-0
Lodolo (2-0) earned the win Friday over the Angels, allowing one run on seven hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: While not as dominant as his first outing this year, Lodolo turned in an incredibly efficient performance against the Angles, needing just 80 pitches to make it into the seventh inning en route to a second win in as many starts. The 26-year-old southpaw has allowed just one run through his first 12 innings this year after he pitched to a 6.29 ERA across seven starts in an injury-plagued 2023 campaign. Lodolo is slated for a tougher matchup against the Phillies in his next outing. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
