Nationals calling up top prospect James Wood
The Washington Post’s Andrew Golden reports the Nationals are calling up top prospect James Wood on Monday.
Advice: It’s happening. Wood, the consensus top prospect in baseball, will make his highly-anticipated major-league debut on Monday against the division-rival Mets. The 21-year-old outfielder possesses an electrifying power/speed combo, and projects as an immediate five-category impact fantasy contributor. He’s done an excellent job making more contact this season, striking out just 18 percent of the time so far after whiffing nearly 34 percent of the time last year in Double-A. He’s getting the call to the big leagues after posting an astronomical .346/.458/.578 triple-slash line with 10 homers and 10 steals over 225 plate appearances for Triple-A Rochester.
