    • Salvador Perez goes 2-for-4, hits 13th home run
Salvador Perez went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and a walk Friday in the Royals’ 10-3 drubbing of the Guardians.

Advice: Perez has hit in five straight after struggling for the first three weeks of the month. He’s thus far posted OPSs of 1.013 in April, .815 in May and .613 in June. Rotoworld Friday, 8:33 pm

    • Slugs 13th homer
Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI in Friday's 10-3 victory over the Guardians.

Advice: The veteran Royal crushed a titanic 447-foot solo homer off Triston McKenzie in the second inning to tie the game at 1-1. Perez later tallied an additional RBI with a single to drive Maikel Garcia home in the third. The 34-year-old Perez appears to be heating up this homestand, hitting .368 (7-for-19) with two homers over the past five games. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:09 pm

    • Swing test pushed back
Jung (wrist) will have his swing test pushed back to Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung was slated to swing a bat Friday, but he'll have that evaluation pushed back a day. He has been on the injured list since April 2 with a fractured right wrist, and his rehab program with Triple-A Round Rock was shut down due to tendon inflammation. Jung could be activated off the injured list soon if his wrist checks out OK on Saturday, though he'll likely be eased back into the action with planned off days once he does return. • Masyn Winn absent from Cardinals lineup on Friday
Masyn Winn is absent from the Cardinals’ starting lineup for Friday’s battle against the Reds.

Advice: It looks to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 22-year-old rookie shortstop. Brandon Crawford will draw a rare start in his place and will bat eighth for the Cardinals against Reds’ right-hander Frankie Montas on Friday evening in St. Louis. Rotoworld Friday, 1:00 pm

    • Getting day off
Winn is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Winn will step out of the starting nine for the first time since June 18, giving way to Brandon Crawford at shortstop Friday. Since the start of June, Winn is batting 25-for-97 (.258) with two homers and 16 runs. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:55 pm

    • Will swing bat Friday
Jung (wrist) will attempt to swing a bat Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung's return has been delayed due to inflammation in his surgically repaired right wrist, but he's ready to test things out swinging a bat after resting for a week and receiving a cortisone shot. The third baseman could be activated soon if things go well in the cage Friday, but when Jung does return he might be eased back into action by playing every other day or receiving one off day per series, according to Grant. Jung has been sidelined since early April. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:57 am

    • Nationals calling up top prospect James Wood
The Washington Post’s Andrew Golden reports the Nationals are calling up top prospect James Wood on Monday.

Advice: It’s happening. Wood, the consensus top prospect in baseball, will make his highly-anticipated major-league debut on Monday against the division-rival Mets. The 21-year-old outfielder possesses an electrifying power/speed combo, and projects as an immediate five-category impact fantasy contributor. He’s done an excellent job making more contact this season, striking out just 18 percent of the time so far after whiffing nearly 34 percent of the time last year in Double-A. He’s getting the call to the big leagues after posting an astronomical .346/.458/.578 triple-slash line with 10 homers and 10 steals over 225 plate appearances for Triple-A Rochester. • Perez has two-hit game in win Thursday
Salvador Perez went 2-for-3 against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Perez has hit safely in four consecutive games. He’s seen his average drop from .321 at the end of May to .283. The Royals lineup desperately needs his bat to wake up again. This was only his third multi-hit game in June, but maybe it’s the start of a hot streak. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:44 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) progresses to hitting again
Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking 30 swings off a batting tee earlier this week.

Advice: Tucker is close to resuming running again after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a right shin contusion. It’s a positive sign that he’s progressed to taking some swings again. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, but he’s definitely going to need at least a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Thursday, 4:46 pm
