      Eovaldi (groin) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said the right-hander will be on an unspecified pitch count, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

      Advice: The 34-year-old suffered the groin strain during his May 2 start against Washington and will rejoin the big-league rotation without embarking on a rehab assignment.       Advice: Eovaldi will take the ball on Tuesday evening against the Diamondbacks following a three-week stint on the injured list recovering from a right groin strain. The 34-year-old veteran right-hander has remained a rock-solid mid-rotation stabilizer for fantasy managers this season, when healthy, with a sparkling 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44/19 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings (seven starts). The right-hander would figure to be relatively limited from a workload perspective Tuesday, although the Rangers haven't revealed any specifics regarding a pitch count.       Tanner Houck pitched six innings of one-run ball against the Brewers on Sunday.

      Advice: Houck struck out seven and walked none in his latest excellent outing. Alas, he didn’t get the victory, as the Red Sox only scored their second run in the bottom of the eighth.       The Rangers have yet to decide whether Eovaldi (groin) will require a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the 15-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Eovaldi has been on the shelf since May 3 with a strained right groin. Though Eovaldi didn't return from the IL in the minimum 15 days like manager Bruce Bochy had initially suggested could be the case, the veteran right-hander might be able to avoid a rehab assignment prior to being activated. He traveled with the Rangers this weekend and threw a bullpen session Friday at Target Field, and he'll presumably be reassessed when the team returns to Arlington ahead of its two-game home series versus the Diamondbacks that begins Tuesday.       Houck did not factor into the decision Sunday against Milwaukee, allowing one earned run on seven hits and one walk through six innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Houck was excellent yet again, marking his third consecutive start allowing one earned run or fewer. The 27-year-old has not allowed a home run since April 12, and his microscopic 0.14 HR/9 leads the league. Houck (4-5) now owns a 1.90 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 71 innings this year.       Jeff Wilson of Rangers Today reports Nathan Eovaldi (groin) is unlikely to return this weekend.

      Advice: Eovaldi is progressing towards a return from the injured list, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll return this weekend, as the Rangers are most likely going to roll with a bullpen game for Sunday’s series finale against the Twins.       Paxton allowed five runs on five hits and four walks over 4.2 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out four during the Dodgers' loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Paxton got off to a rough start by yielding a three-run shot to Spencer Steer in the first inning. The Reds's bats then went quiet until a six-run fifth inning. Paxton was charged with two of those as he gave up a season-high five runs during his shortest outing of the year. The veteran southpaw saw his ERA jump from 2.84 to 3.49 through 49 frames. Paxton is still 5-0 despite some recent struggles (4.13 ERA over his last five starts). His next outing is projected to come on the road against the Mets next week.       James Paxton allowed five earned runs in 4 ⅔ to the Reds on Friday. He walked four and struck out four.

      Advice: It’s a marvel Paxton’s ERA remains a respectable 3.49 despite the same exact number of walks and strikeouts through nine starts.
