    • Takes live BP
Jung (wrist) took live batting practice Thursday, Kenndi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The rehabbing Jung saw 30-40 pitches from the rehabbing Tyler Mahle (elbow). The next step for Jung is a trip to Triple-A Round Rock to continue live BP before he officially begins a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 5:28 am

    • Picks up ninth steal
Henderson went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Henderson has two steals over 12 games in June, and he's gone 16-for-48 (.333) with three home runs and six doubles in that span. The shortstop has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 contests as he continues to provide all-around excellence from the top of the Orioles' lineup. He's at a .273/.372/.592 slash line with 21 home runs, nine steals, 47 RBI and 55 runs scored through 67 games overall. Rotowire.com Today, 12:07 am
    • Logs another quality start in win
Houck (7-5) earned the win against the Phillies on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Houck tossed three scoreless innings then loaded the bases and surrendered a three-run double to Kyle Schwarber in a rough fourth. He rebounded with two more scoreless frames to earn his fifth straight quality start and received plenty of offensive support, as the Red Sox tagged Aaron Nola for eight runs. Houck has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in 13 of 14 starts and has been one of baseball's biggest breakouts so far in 2024. On the season, he owns a 2.08 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 89:15 K:BB in 91 innings and lines up to start next Tuesday against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 pm
    • Houck gets seventh win against Phillies Thursday
Tanner Houck allowed three runs in six innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 9-3 victory over the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: Houck gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was his seventh of the season. Houck has allowed more than three earned runs in a start only once in 14 starts this year. His ERA is now 2.08 on the season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.

    • Idle Thursday
Smith isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Thursday versus the Rangers.

Advice: Smith will get some scheduled rest after starting in five consecutive games. In that span, the catcher went 5-for-19 with a homer in series versus the Yankees and Rangers. With the 29-year-old on the bench Thursday, Austin Barnes will start behind the dish and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:14 pm

    • On base five times in loss
Perez went 2-for-2 with three walks in Wednesday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Perez walked three times in a game for the first time in his career. The catcher has gone just 6-for-33 (.182) over 10 contests in June, but he's shown rare patience at the plate by drawing eight walks in that span. For the season, he's at a .302/.381/.488 slash line with 10 home runs, 42 RBI, 26 runs scored, 15 doubles and no stolen bases, and his 9.0 percent walk rate is double his previous career high, which was in a 39-game sample as a rookie in 2011. • Collects another win
Suarez (4-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the A's, giving up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning and striking out one.

Advice: For the second straight game, Suarez benefited from a Padres walk-off homer, with Wednesday's coming off the bat of Jackson Merrill. The right-hander has been tagged for a run in only one of his 26 appearances since the beginning of April, and on the season Suarez sports a sparkling 0.61 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB through 29.1 innings. • MRI comes back clean for Jurickson Profar (knee)
Jurickson Profar (knee) underwent a precautionary MRI exam on his injured knee on Wednesday that came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: Padres’ fans and fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief, as one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the season won’t miss substantial time. He’s still considered day-to-day and should return to the Padres’ lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:00 pm

    • Josh Jung (wrist) heads out on rehab assignment
Josh Jung (wrist) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Advice: Jung spent the morning with the Rangers, where he took live batting practice off of rehabbing right-hander Tyler Mahle, before packing up and heading off to his rehab assignment. Expect the 26-year-old slugger to remain there through the weekend before potentially rejoining the Rangers next week. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:06 pm
