• Julio Rodríguez will undergo MRI on injured quad
Julio Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after leaving Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to discomfort in his lower right quad area.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder looked uncomfortable while tracking a fly ball in the outfield during the top half of the first inning, then he was replaced by Ty France before he had a chance to take hit first at-bat. The Mariners should have the results of his imaging before Sunday’s game, so expect another update on his status before then. Rotoworld 1 minute ago

  • Lynn hit hard for 11 runs, three homers in loss
Lance Lynn allowed 11 runs (10 earned) in 2 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Lynn gave up nine hits, walked four and struck out two. Lynn had won back-to-back starts and seemed to be putting together a nice season before it all came crashing down against the Nationals. He allowed three home runs and looked more like he did last year when he had a 5.73 ERA and allowed 44 home runs. Lynn’s ERA increased nearly a full run from 3.59 to 4.48 with this outing. The 37-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cubs at home next weekend.

  • Greene blanks DET over seven with seven strikeouts
Hunter Greene blanked the Tigers for seven innings but didn’t qualify for a decision Saturday.

Advice: Greene was outstanding. His bullpen was not. The right-hander left with a 2-0 lead but the Tigers pounced on the Cincinnati reliers to prevent him from picking up his deserved win. It was one of the most efficient outings for the 24-year-old that saw him throw 63-of-104 pitches for strikes while allowing just three hits. Greene has special talent, it’s just a matter of finding that efficiency on a more consistent basis. He’ll get the Rockies at home before the break. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago
  • Garrett Crochet goes four innings in start vs. MIA
Garrett Crochet allows three runs in four innings against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Much has been made of Crochet being on a limited pitch count in his first year as a starter, but he likely wouldn’t have gone deep even without said limit. On top of giving up his three runs, he needed 93 pitches to get through those four innings while walking three and striking out five. Crochet has been a heck of a find in 2024, but there’s likely to be an awful lot of three-to-five inning starts in the second half of the campaign. Keep that risk in mind. • Semien blasts 12th home run in clutch situation
Marcus Semien went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, and a two-run home run against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: The home run was Semien’s 12th of the year. Semien was 3-for-40 (.075) in his last nine games entering Saturday and hadn’t hit a home run since June ninth. He came up with the Rangers trailing by a run in the seventh inning and hit a go-ahead two-run home run that ended up being the difference in the game. He’s hitting .232 with .679 OPS and 47 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

  • Removed early Saturday
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Blue Jays should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:35 pm

  • Julio Rodriguez leaves game with possible injury
Julio Rodriguez was removed from Saturday’s ballgame against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on what exactly occurred, but Rodriguez was pinch-hit for by Ty France the first time that he strolled to the plate in the home half of the first inning. Expect the Mariners to provide an update on the superstar outfielder’s status as soon as more information is available. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm
