  • Carlos Estévez picks up 16th save of year vs. DET
Carlos Estévez didn’t give up a hit while qualifying for a save against the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Estévez didn’t give up a hit, didn’t strike anyone out and didn’t issue a walk. He didn’t really have a chance to do any of those things as the Tigers made him throw only nine pitches; eight of those landing for strikes. The 31-year-old is already up to 16 saves on the year with a very useable 3.12 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:06 pm

  • Steals, reaches three times in win
Marsh went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a stolen base in a 2-0 win over the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Marsh doubled in the second inning and walked and stole second in the fourth. He later walked again in the eighth and has reached base seven times in his past two starts with a home run and a steal. With recent injuries to Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (groin), the lefty was in the cleanup spot Friday night and will likely continue to hit in the middle of the order against right-handed pitching while they remain on the injured-list. The 26-year-old is now hitting .270 with seven home runs, 31 RBI, 25 runs scored and nine steals through 225 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:22 pm

Since June 17, the southpaw has won three straight contests and surrendered just one earned run over 23 innings with an 18:1 K:BB. The 27-year-old owns a 2.41 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 79:24 K:BB through 93.1 innings in 2024 and will look to stay hot against the Cubs next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:07 pm
  • Brandon Marsh reaches three times in win on Friday
Brandon Marsh doubled, drew a pair of walks and stole a base as the Phillies triumphed over the Marlins on Friday evening in Philadelphia.

Advice: Marsh led off the second inning with a double and advanced to third on a fly ball but was left stranded there. He then drew a one-out walk off of Kyle Tyler in the fourth inning and swiped second base to get himself into scoring position, but the Phillies were unable to cash him in. The 26-year-old outfielder is enjoying a solid season — slashing .270/.351/.429 with seven homers, 31 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:48 pm

  • Cristopher Sánchez records first career shutout
Cristopher Sánchez delivered a dazzling performance against the Marlins on Friday night, racking up nine strikeouts while recording his first career shutout.

Advice: The 27-year-old left-hander scattered just three hits on the night — all of them singles — and didn’t walk a batter. He needed just 101 pitches (73 strikes) to navigate his nine brilliant innings. Sánchez generated 16 swings and misses in the ballgame — eight of those on his changeup — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. Now 6-3 on the season, he’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a pristine 2.41 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 79/24 K/BB ratio (93 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. • Season-high six walks in win
Abbott (7-6) picked up the win over the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks over five innings while striking out two.

Advice: The only runs charged to Abbott on the night came on a two-run homer from Nolan Arenado in the bottom of the third, as the lefty managed to pitch his way out of trouble the rest of the time despite issuing a season-high six free passes. Abbott has now won four of his last five starts, though he finishes the month of June with 15 walks, compared to just six in May. On the positive side, he's also gone at least five innings in 11 consecutive starts and hasn't given up more than three runs in five straight. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:05 am
