    Judge went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over the Giants.

    Advice: Judge ended May with a bang, earning his first multi-homer game of the year while reaching the 20-homer mark. He did a ton of damage to opposing pitchers this month, going 36-for-97 (.371) with 14 long balls, 12 doubles and 27 RBI over 28 contests.   • Starring role in win
    Tovar went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers.

    Advice: Tovar was the only Rockie with multiple hits in the contest. This was his 10th multi-hit effort over his last 16 games, a span in which he's batting .356 (26-for-73) with four homers, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base. The shortstop is up to a .294/.328/.481 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI, 30 runs scored, four steals, 17 doubles and a triple over 55 contests this season.   • Aaron Judge homers twice in win over Giants
    Aaron Judge homered twice and drove in four runs in a 6-2 win for the Yankees over the Giants on Friday.

    Advice: This getting ridiculous. Judge is now all alone in eighth place in Yankees’ history with 277 homers; passing Jorge Posada. The slugger also singled for a three-hit day, and he’s up to 20 homers on the season. The month of May has been extremely kind to Judge.   • Ezequiel Tovar picks up three hits, homers in win
    Ezequiel Tovar went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in a win Friday against the Dodgers.

    Advice: Tovar gave the Rockies a 4-0 lead with a solo homer in the fourth off Walker Buehler. The shortstop has homered eight times in 2024 with five of them coming in May. Tovar still needs to show a little more consistency to reach an elite level, but the talent is there for him to reach that lofty status in the coming years. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:47 pm
     
  • James McArthur gives up four runs in blowing save
    James McArthur gave up four runs without retiring a batter in the eighth to take a blown save Friday against the Padres.

    Advice: Josh Schreiber, McArthur and Will Klein combined to give up nine runs in the eighth after the Royals entered the inning with a 3-2 lead. The good news for McArthur was that Schreiber, the Royals’ best alternative in the closer’s role, was pretty much equally ineffective tonight. Schrieber still has a big ERA lead on McArthur (3.00 to 5.32) and McArthur is up to four blown saves, so a change might be considered. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
     
  • Luis Severino allows five runs, wins
    Luis Severino pitched 5 ⅓ innings on Friday against the Diamondbacks and four earned runs with four strikeouts and one walk in a win.

    Advice: Seeing the win is nice, but Severino wasn’t his best on Friday. His velocity was down a tick across the board as the Diamondbacks made plenty of hard contact. Yet, Severino didn’t allow an extra-base hit until the Eugenio Suárez home run that chased him from the game. Keep an eye on whether or not that velocity levels out in his next start.   • Jake Burger goes 3-for-5 in win over Rangers
    Jake Burger went 3-for-5 with a couple of runs scored Friday in the win over the Rangers.

    Advice: Burger came into the night with a hideous .240 OBP, but the Marlins still had him hitting second in their lineup. Perhaps he’s starting to pull out of his slump; he has seven hits in his last three games, raising his average from .189 to .218. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm
     
  • Lars Nootbaar (oblique) to miss several weeks
    Cardinals’ manager Oli Marmol told reporters on Friday that Lars Nootbaar is dealing with a moderate oblique strain and is expected to miss several weeks.

    Advice: It won’t be a minimum stint on the injured list for the 26-year-old outfielder this time around. It sounds like he’s looking at an extended absence and will then require a minor league rehab assignment before he’s able to return to the Cardinals’ outfield.   • Facing long-term absence
    Manager Oli Marmol said Friday that Nootbar (oblique) is expected to miss several weeks, John Denton of MLB.com

    Advice: On top of what seems to be a multi-week absence, Nootbar will need at least a week-long rehab assignment in the minors, meaning the 26-year-old may miss the entirety of June.
