  • Ryan picks up fifth win against A’s Thursday
    Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Twins’ 6-2 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

    Advice: Ryan gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five. The win was his fifth of the year. Both of the runs for Oakland came on a Tyler Soderstrom two-run home run in the second inning. Ryan hung a splitter to Soderstrom, but it was basically the only mistake he made on the night. It was Ryan’s 10th quality start of the season. His ERA is now 3.24 on the year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays at home next week.

    Bohm isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Thursday's game against Boston.

    Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk Wednesday in an 11-5 victory against Kansas City.

    Advice: Torres further busted open the game for the Yankees with a three-run shot off Daniel Lynch in the seventh inning. The long ball was his second in June and his sixth overall this season.     Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Angels.

    Advice: Walker has gone 10-for-45 (.222) with two homers and eight RBI over 11 contests in June. The first baseman is up to 13 long balls, 42 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles, two stolen bases and a .255/.340/.458 slash line through 68 games this season. Walker's power is a bit down from the last two years, but that's at least partially due to bad luck -- entering Wednesday, he had a 50.0 percent hard-hit rate and a 15.1 percent barrel rate this season, up from 40.4 percent and 11.4 percent, respectively, in 2023.     Marte went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in Monday's 10-4 victory against the Marlins.

    Advice: Marte swatted a 434-foot solo shot in the fifth inning and added an RBI single in the eighth. The veteran outfielder finished with two hits for the third straight game. He's on a hot streak that has lasted more than two weeks -- Marte has seven multi-hit efforts in 10 contests since May 29 and is batting .471 (16-for-34) with nine RBI, eight runs and two stolen bases over that stretch.     Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Angels on Wednesday.

    Advice: It was a rough night from the start, as Pivetta allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base and surrendered two runs in each of the first and third innings. The four walks were a season high, and he allowed at least one baserunner in every inning. Pivetta has been inconsistent this season, with six starts of two or fewer earned runs and three starts yielding five.     Nick Pivetta surrendered four runs in four innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Phillies.

    Advice: Pivetta walked four tonight. He’s issued 11 free passes in his last four starts after totaling two in his first five. Pivetta also struck out four tonight.     Webb (6-5) picked up the win Wednesday against the Astros, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out five over six innings.

    Advice: Webb held Houston to one run through his first five innings before giving up a two-run homer to Yordan Alvarez in the sixth. However, the Giants would hang on for a 5-3 victory while Webb logged his sixth quality start in his last seven outings. Overall, the right-hander sports a 3.02 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP and 78:20 K:BB across 92.1 innings this year. Webb's currently slated for a road matchup with the Cubs early next week.
