In the fourth, he stumbled out of the batter's box, hit himself in the head with the bat and still legged out a dribbler along the third-base line for his third hit of the game. Standing on first base, Myers shook his head, rolled his eyes and caught his breath. Quite simply, some things in baseball defy explanation. Myers, a .116 career hitter, became the eighth pitcher to collect three hits in a playoff game and only the third since 1924, according to baseball-reference.com.
