    • Michael Conforto singles Friday in rehab contest
      Michael Conforto (hamstring) went 1-for-3 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Sacramento.

      Advice: Conforto kicked off his rehab assignment by getting in a couple frames in left field as he works his way back from a right hamstring strain. The 31-year-old veteran was off to a strong start at the dish, with encouraging Statcast batted ball metrics to back it up, which should make him a relevant option for fantasy managers once he returns.       Montgomery (3-3) yielded eight runs (six earned) on nine hits and three walks over four innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Mets.

      Advice: Montgomery had a 3-0 lead before taking the mound Friday but quickly squandered it by coughing up four runs in the bottom of the first inning. He allowed another run in the second and three more in the fourth. After producing a pair of quality starts in his first two outings with Arizona, Montgomery has registered a rough 6.61 ERA over his last six starts.       MJ Melendez finished 0-for-4 while his teammates were combining to score eight runs Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Melendez will likely turn this around if the Royals stick with him long enough, but at this point, sending him down for 2-3 weeks would make sense.     • Jordan Montgomery hit hard by Mets
      Jordan Montgomery allowed six earned runs across four innings in a loss to the Mets on Friday. He struck out just four while walking three batters and giving up nine hits.

      Advice: Montgomery’s poor season continued on Friday. The Diamondbacks gifted him a 3-0 lead before he took the mound and still managed to cough it up before the third inning. Once again, his sinker was hit incredibly hard - the Mets had an average exit velocity of 97 MPH off the pitch - and he wound up trashing it as the game went on in favor of more four-seam fastballs and curveballs.       Conforto (hamstring) will begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

      Advice: Conforto continues to work his way through a right hamstring strain that he sustained May 11 against the Reds. Before landing on the IL, Conforto was slashing .280/.331/.490 with seven home runs and 20 RBI over 154 plate appearances.       The Padres are still evaluating Darvish's left hamstring injury and have not ruled out him making his next scheduled start Tuesday versus the Angels, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

      Advice: Darvish had to be lifted from Wednesday's outing against the Marlins after his hamstring tightened up on him. While it's a good sign he hasn't been placed on the 10-day injured list yet, no final determination has been made regarding his status for his next turn or a possible IL stint.       Padres’ manager Mike Shildt told reporters on Friday that Yu Darvish (hamsting) is still being evaluated and that there’s a chance he’ll be able to make his next scheduled start on Tuesday.

      Advice: The Padres haven’t placed Darvish on the injured list — and may not at all — depending on how he feels over the next couple of days. It sounds like they’ll continue to take things a day at a time with the 37-year-old hurler.       Pivetta (2-4) took the loss against Detroit on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 5.1 innings.

      Advice: Pivetta's nine punchouts were his most since his season debut March 29, and the outing was a nice bounce-back from his five-run, 3.1-inning start his previous time on the mound. However, Boston's offense couldn't generate any runs, saddling the right-hander with his fourth loss.
