    • Crushed by Giants
Paxton (7-2) allowed nine runs on 12 hits and two walks over four innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Giants.

Advice: Paxton gave up four runs through three frames before the Giants piled on with a five-run fourth inning. The veteran southpaw had a very odd month of June; he gave up six earned runs in 1.2 innings against the Pirates on June 5 but allowed just two total runs over his next three outings before Sunday's unraveling. Overall, he posted a 6.46 ERA this month, raising his season mark to 4.28 through 15 starts. Paxton's next start is currently lined up to be at home against the Brewers. Rotowire.com Today, 8:41 pm
    • Big Maple gets lit up Sunday in loss to Giants
James Paxton was torched for nine runs on 12 hits over four innings on Sunday in a loss to the Giants.

Advice: Paxton gave up a couple early runs before the metaphorical wheels came off completely in the fourth inning when he was obliterated for five runs on four hits, including a two-run homer by Matt Chapman, and one free pass. The dozen hits allowed were a career-high for Paxton, who struck out four and handed out a pair of walks as well. The 35-year-old southpaw had allowed just two runs combined across 16 innings of work over his previous three starts dating back to June 11. He’ll attempt to right the ship when he faces the Brewers on Saturday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 3:34 pm

    • Wilyer Abreu collects two hits in victory
Wilyer Abreu singled twice and walked in his three plate appearances Sunday as the Red Sox topped the Padres 4-1.

Advice: In spite of the strong showing, Abreu was still lifted for a pinch-hitter against a lefty reliever in the eighth. Abreu hit his line drive singles 107 and 104 mph today. He had been 2-for-16 since coming off the injured list last week, but he’s a worthy option in mixed leagues right now. Rotoworld Today, 1:38 pm
    • Two doubles in loss
Soler went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's extra-innings loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Soler doubled in his first at-bat before coming around to score the Giants' first run of the game on a sac fly from Heliot Ramos. The slugger then added an RBI double to tie the game at 2-2 in the third, giving him three extra-base hits over his last three games. Soler is now batting .275 this month -- a far cry from his .164 average in May -- with three homers, eight doubles, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 8:16 am

    • Records fourth steal in loss
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Raleigh is much more renowned for his power than his speed, but he's now up to a career-high four stolen bases with Saturday's swipe. The slugging backstop has reached safely in seven straight games, a stretch during which he owns a .429 on-base percentage thanks in large part to a 25.0 percent walk rate. • Continues power surge
Merrill went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a double in an 11-1 rout of the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Merrill increased San Diego's lead to 4-0 with a fourth-inning solo blast and capped the scoring in the contest with an RBI double in the eighth. The rookie has homered in back-to-back contests and in half of his past 10 games. Extended further, Merrill's power surge has included nine long balls over his past 16 contests, and he's slashing .333/.365/.817 with 18 RBI and 12 runs during that stretch. • Jorge Soler doubles twice in loss to Dodgers
Jorge Soler went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and an RBI as the Giants fell to the Dodgers in extra innings on Saturday evening in San Francisco.

Advice: Soler led off the home half of the first inning with a double off of Tyler Glasnow, then scored the team’s first run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Heliot Ramos. Soler also drove in a run of his own with an RBI double off of Glasnow in the third inning, tying the game at 2-2. Perhaps staying in the leadoff spot is the way to get him going. Soler is now hitting .226/.306/.389 with nine homers and 30 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:06 pm

    • Steals 40th bag in win
De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: De La Cruz hit an RBI double in the third inning and followed it up with his 40th steal of the season. He then tripled and scored in a six-run fifth frame for the Reds. After going eight games without a steal, the 22-year-old has now swiped a bag in three consecutive contests and continues to lead the league in the category. He struck out three times to bring his league-leading season total to 110, but De La Cruz is nonetheless batting .255 with 14 home runs, 37 RBI and 55 runs scored over 355 plate appearances.
