  • Sat, Oct 4
    • SS Orlando Cabrera was given a chance to square off against Rays RHP Grant Balfour on Friday after the two had a war of words in Game 1. As it stands through Round 2, Balfour remained in control of their matchup. It was during Thursday's game that Balfour fanned Juan Uribe and ticked off Cabrera with his antics after the strikeout. Cabrera came up after that, and during his at-bat, he kicked dirt in Balfour's direction -- "to challenge him." Balfour fanned Cabrera, then clearly yelled in his direction and made gestures pointing Cabrera back to the dugout. On Friday, Balfour was brought in to face Cabrera with Uribe at second and one out, and Cabrera grounded out. In his first at-bat, Cabrera was hit by Scott Kazmir, so it would seem to not be over just yet.
