• Hits grand slam off bench
Adell hit a grand slam as a pinch hitter in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Adell erased a four-run deficit when he checked into the game in the seventh inning, replacing Matt Thaiss. The homer also ended a 1-for-31 dry spell for Adell, who went 11-for-43 (.256) prior to that slump. The outfielder is already at 11 homers on the year while adding 27 RBI, eight stolen bases, 24 runs scored, four doubles and a triple over 162 plate appearances. Despite that success in counting stats, he's still batting just .211, though he's made up for it with a .476 slugging percentage. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:06 pm

  • First to 20 homers in 2024
Judge went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Judge ended May with a bang, earning his first multi-homer game of the year while reaching the 20-homer mark. He did a ton of damage to opposing pitchers this month, going 36-for-97 (.371) with 14 long balls, 12 doubles and 27 RBI over 28 contests. The slugger is up to a fantastic .282/.408/.648 slash line with 45 RBI, 40 runs scored and two stolen bases over 59 contests in 2024. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:41 pm
  • Jo Adell swats grand slam against Mariners
Jo Adell hit a grand slam in a loss to the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: You don’t see a ton of pinch-hit grand slams, but Adell was able to get one after coming off the bench and blistering a Tayler Saucedo sweeper into the left-field seats to tie the game at 4-4. The outfielder had been scuffling as of late, but the power didn’t go away. Adell still has a skillset that suggests fantasy success is well within his grasp, even with the inconsistent — at best — results over his career. Rotoworld Friday, 10:05 pm

  • Aaron Judge homers twice in win over Giants
Aaron Judge homered twice and drove in four runs in a 6-2 win for the Yankees over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: This getting ridiculous. Judge is now all alone in eighth place in Yankees’ history with 277 homers; passing Jorge Posada. The slugger also singled for a three-hit day, and he’s up to 20 homers on the season. The month of May has been extremely kind to Judge. It’s likely the other months will be good to the 32-year-old, as well. Rotoworld Friday, 9:57 pm
  • Logs steal in win
Freeman went 2-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Freeman had been leading off over the last couple of weeks, but that should be done with Steven Kwan (hamstring) returning from the injured list Friday. Freeman was second in the order Friday against southpaw Patrick Corbin, but he'll likely bat lower against right-handers moving forward. Freeman's steal was his second in five games and his eighth of the campaign. He's still at a mediocre .223/.317/.354 slash line with four home runs, 22 RBI, 32 runs scored and 11 doubles over 203 plate appearances overall, but he's hit .295 (18-for-61) over his last 16 contests. • Resting Friday
Adell isn't in the Angels' lineup for Friday's game against Seattle, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Adell has gone 0-for-18 with 10 strikeouts across his last five games, so the Angels will give him a day off to regroup Friday. Kevin Pillar will take over in right field and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:01 pm

  • Slumping Jo Adell gets night off on Friday
Jo Adell is not in the Angels’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Mariners.

Advice: Angels’ manager Ron Washington told Adell this week not to worry about his recent struggles and that the team’s right field job is still is. It’s not a bad idea to give him a night off though to clear his head. Adell is mired in a 1-for-30 slump with a 14/0 K/BB ratio during that stretch. Kevin Pillar will cover right field and bat fifth for the Angels on Friday night against Bryan Woo and the Mariners. Rotoworld Friday, 2:53 pm

  • Alexis Díaz nearly blows save versus Cubs
Alexis Díaz escaped with his 11th save after giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Reds.

Advice: Díaz got lucky when a pitch that hit both Nick Madigal’s hand and the knob of his bat was ruled a foul ball and was then fortunate again when Madrigal, as the tying run, was thrown out at home plate trying to score on Seiya Suzuki’s double. Díaz has a 5.91 ERA this season. He’s walked 15 and hit three batters in 21 1/3 innings. He’s simply not worthy of trust right now, but since he’s blown only two saves and the Reds don’t have anyone else they’re really wanting to turn to, he’ll probably remain in the closer’s role for now. Lucas Sims is likely still second in line, even if Fernando Cruz is the more interesting reliever these days. Rotoworld Friday, 2:40 pm

  • Walks tightrope for 11th save
Diaz earned the save Friday against the Cubs despite allowing a run on two hits in a walk in the ninth inning.

Advice: Diaz allowed the first two baserunners to reach safely before surrendering a one-out double to Seiya Suzuki. While one run scored on the play, Jacob Hurtubise would throw out Nick Madrigal at the plate as the tying run before Diaz got Cody Bellinger to fly out, sealing a 5-4 victory. While it didn't come easy for Diaz on Friday, he's now converted four straight save opportunities while allowing just one earned run in his last 5.2 innings. Diaz's ERA still sits at an uninspiring 5.91 with a 1.55 WHP and 22:15 K:BB across 21.1 innings this year. He's converted 11 of 13 save chances overall. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:40 pm
