    • Resting Sunday
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Advice: After starting at catcher in the last five games, Smith will get a break for the day game as the team finishes out its series in Cincinnati. Austin Barnes will get the start behind home plate and will bat ninth in place of Smith. Rotowire.com Today, 7:26 am

    • Allows nine hits in win
Montgomery (3-2) earned the win over the Marlins on Saturday, allowing two runs on nine hits and one walk over six innings while striking out four.

Advice: Montgomery didn't get off to a great start, surrendering a leadoff double to open the contest, followed by an RBI single off the bat of Josh Bell two batters later as the Marlins took an early 1-0 lead. However, the lefty would eventually find his groove, hurling 1-2-3 innings in the second and third before later coughing up one more run on a Jazz Chisholm double in the sixth. Montgomery has now gone at least six innings in five of his seven starts this season, though he's also allowed at least seven hits in four of those outings, including a season-high nine hits in Saturday's win. • Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) in lineup Sunday vs. CIN
Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) is in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Ohtani will get the start as he continues to play through the right hamstring contusion. The 29-year-old didn’t look at 100 percent while picking up a triple during Saturday’s contest, but it’s obviously a positive to see that he’s able to play through the issue. • Remains in lineup Sunday
Ohtani will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Sunday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Though manager Dave Roberts disclosed after Saturday's 3-1 loss that Ohtani has been managing a bruised hamstring of late, the 29-year-old still served as the Dodgers' DH for all nine innings of the contest, going 1-for-4 with a triple and three strikeouts. According to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, Ohtani wasn't running at full speed when he legged out the triple, and while the hamstring issue doesn't look as though it'll cost him any starts, it could result in his stolen-base opportunities being more limited in the short term. Ohtani has gone a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen-base attempts through his first 52 games of the season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

    • Rehab moves to field
Langford (hamstring) started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Advice: Langford, who began his rehab assignment Friday as the DH, moved to the field Saturday and played five innings. The Rangers, who have lost six straight and 12 of the last 14, could fast-track Langford's return to Tuesday, when Texas opens a two-game set against Arizona. A sign of that would be Langford starting in the outfield for a second straight day, when Round Rock finishes its series against Sugar Land on Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:51 am

    • Three hits including homer
Westburg went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: The O's did all their scoring in the eighth inning, and Westburg slugged the last of three Baltimore homers in the frame when he took Michael Kopech deep. It was the 25-year-old infielder's first multi-hit performance since May 15, snapping a 4-for-29 (.138) swoon. Despite the mini-slump, Westburg sports a .285/.342/.508 slash line on the season with eight homers, five steals, 26 runs and 31 RBI in 48 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 am

    • Shohei Ohtani playing through hamstring bruise
Shohei Ohtani is playing through a right hamstring contusion.

Advice: The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya adds that the Dodgers are managing Ohtani’s lingering issue, which he suffered during their last homestand when he was hit by a pickoff throw, by placing a “governor” on him while running the bases. The restriction became apparent when the 29-year-old cruised around the bases at less than full speed on his sixth-inning triple during Saturday’s contest against the Reds. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward, but it’s certainly an issue fantasy managers should continue monitoring. Ohtani has been phenomenal in his Los Angeles debut so far, currently leads the majors with a .338 batting average along with 13 homers and 13 steals through 52 games. • Burger has three-hit game in loss Saturday
Jake Burger went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Burger hit .250 with 34 home runs last year. With the three hits on Saturday, his average is up to a paltry .194 on the season. While Burger doesn’t have a track record outside of last season, his career BABIP is .282 and his BABIP this year is much lower at .217. Burger is even striking out at a much lower rate this year with a 22 percent strikeout percentage compared to his career 28 percent strikeout percentage. His batting average should normalize eventually, which makes him a decent buy-low candidate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:13 pm

    • Montgomery picks up third win on Saturday
Jordan Montgomery allowed two runs in six innings and picked up the win in the Diamondbacks’ 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: The win was Montgomery’s third of the season. He allowed nine hits, a walk and struck out four. Montgomery completed six innings for the fifth time in seven tries this year. His ERA is now 4.69 on the season. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Mets on the road next week.
