    • Staying put in Triple-A
Palacios will not be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It had been previously reported Tuesday that Palacios was bound for the majors, but the team will instead keep him in Indianapolis for now. The 28-year-old outfielder has missed two months of the season due to an injury, but he's posted a .934 OPS since returning from the IL on June 11. If his bat continues to stay hot, it's possible he still gets the call to Pittsburgh at some point -- especially if Jack Suwinski and Michael Taylor continue to struggle in the big leagues. • Homer, three hits in loss
Suwinski went 3-for-3 with a three-run home run in a 7-4 loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: Suwinski singled in the third inning and put the Pirates on the board with a three-run home run in the fifth. He later added another single in the seventh to stay perfect at the plate Tuesday. This was the outfielder's first three-hit effort of the season and his first home run since June 14. On the year, he is hitting a lowly .180 with seven home runs, 23 RBI, 24 runs scored and five steals over 225 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:02 pm
    • Joining Pirates Wednesday
The Pirates will recall Palacios from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Since returning from the Triple-A injured list June 11, Palacios has slashed .362/.423/.511 with a homer and six RBI in 52 plate appearances. He'll now join the big-league club as the Pirates look to get more production out of their outfielders, in light of the fact both Jack Suwinski (.542 OPS) and Michael Taylor (.492 OPS) have struggled at the plate all season. • Report: Pirates set to recall Joshua Palacios
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Noah Hiles reports the Pirates are recalling outfielder Joshua Palacios on Wednesday from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Palacios is getting the call back to the majors for Wednesday’s game against the Cardinals after batting .311/.386/.419 with one homer and one steal in 21 games this season for Triple-A Indianapolis. The 28-year-old outfielder got into a career-high 91 contests last year for Pittsburgh. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:55 pm

    • Jack Suwinski has three hits, HR in loss
Jack Suwinski went 3-for-3 with a home run in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: Suwinski had the two hardest-hit balls of the day with a 109.7 mph single and a 107.5 mph home run that traveled 448 feet. It was his seventh big fly of the season and is still hitting under .190 on the year He has started four of the last five games in center field for the Pirates, but he only posted one total hit in the other starts. There remains some potential here, but this might not be Suwinski turning a corner yet. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:50 pm
    • D-backs activate Alek Thomas for Tuesday return
Diamondbacks activated OF Alek Thomas from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Thomas will make his long-awaited return to Arizona’s lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Dodgers after missing three months due to a hamstring strain and a couple setbacks during his rehabilitation process. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:36 pm
    • Back from injured list
The Diamondbacks reinstated Thomas (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Thomas suffered a left hamstring strain during the fourth game of the season, and multiple setbacks have contributed to his three-month absence. Now, after playing in 10 rehab games between the Arizona Complex League and Triple-A, the 24-year-old outfielder has been cleared to return to the big-league roster. It's possible the D-backs have him sit occasionally as he gets used to facing MLB pitchers again, but he'll almost certainly reclaim his role as Arizona's primary center fielder. Blaze Alexander was optioned to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:31 pm
    • Brandon Drury back Tuesday after 10-game absence
Brandon Drury (illness) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: Drury is back at second base and batting seventh for Tuesday’s series opener against Oakland following a 10-game absence due to a respiratory virus. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:20 pm

    • Back in starting lineup
Drury (illness) is starting at second base and batting seventh Tuesday, his first start since June 18.

Advice: After dealing with a hamstring injury, Drury returned from the injured list June 17. However, since then the infielder has been dealing with an illness that has resulted in multiple late scratches and games on the bench. The 31-year-old came off the bench in Sunday's game but went 0-for-2 with a strikeout. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:03 pm
