    Thairo Estrada was held out of the Giants’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to a sore left thumb.

  • Framber Valdez spins seven strong in win over MIN
    Framber Valdez gave up just one hit on two runs while working seven innings to get a win Saturday against the Twins.

    Advice: Valdez did issue two walks, but he was able to keep the self-inflicted damage to a low roar while striking out four. The southpaw ha gone seven innings in three of his last five starts, and he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of those outings.     Vinnie Pasquantino homered and drove in three runs in a loss for the Royals to the Padres on Saturday.

    Advice: Pasquantino hit a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez in the first inning to give Kansas City a 2-1 lead, and he gave the Royals another lead with an RBI single two innings later. The 26-year-old has driven home 39 runs over KC’s 60 games, and the homer was his seventh. The .242 average leaves a bit to be desired, but Pasquantino is capable of helping in several categories with his left-handed bat, as evidenced by this showing Saturday.     José Ramírez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in the Guardians 3-2 win over the Nationals on Saturday.

    Advice: Ramírez knocked a base hit in the first inning and scored on a single by Kyle Manzardo. He knocked another base hit to lead off the third and stole second before scoring from second on a wild pitch. The 31-year-old third baseman has been on a tear over the last month.
