• Pivetta takes no hitter into seventh vs. Marlins
Nick Pivetta struck out 10 while allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings, but he didn’t pick up a decision against the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: Pivetta took a no-no into the seventh inning, but he gave up his first hit with two outs in that frame on a triple to Jesus Sanchez. It was a dominating effort for the 31-year-old, and nice to see after a run of mediocre starts for the right-hander. It certainly helped that he was facing a well-below-average lineup in Miami, but Pivetta’s stuff would’ve beaten most Thursday. Unfortunately, the bullpen didn’t get the job done. Pivetta gets another favorable matchup on paper next week against the A’s. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Framber Valdez gets quality start, win vs. TOR
Framber Valdez allowed three runs over six innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: Valdez gave up nine hits and walked two while striking out four. The overall line isn’t great, but it’s worth pointing out that he gave up all three runs in the first inning before settling down over the final five. He’ll get a chance to make one more start before the All-Star break against the Marlins on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 12:52 pm
  • Smacks 14th homer
Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds took Andre Pallante deep on the first pitch of the fourth, providing the only run for the Pirates until the 10th inning. Reynolds has found his power stroke of late, with six of his 14 home runs this season coming over his last 18 games. He's carried a hot bat since the beginning of June, slashing .319/.372/.588 with seven homers and 18 RBI over his last 29 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 12:43 pm

  • Bryan Reynolds swats solo homer in extra-inning loss
Bryan Reynolds homered in an extra-inning loss to the Cardinals on Thursday.

Advice: Reynolds swatted a solo homer off Andre Pallante to tie the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning. The outfielder has homered 14 times while driving in 48 runs thus far in 2023. It was the only hit of the game for Reynolds, but his .273/.338/.466 slash is solid, and he was much better than that in June with a .330/.388/.504 slash in that month. • Luis Rengifo undergoing MRI on right wrist
Luis Rengifo is out of the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Athletics with right wrist soreness.

Advice: X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Rengifo left Wednesday’s game against the Athletics with right hand soreness following a ninth-inning swing. However, he’s slated to undergo an MRI on Friday in Chicago to determine the extent of the injury, specifically whether he’s dealing with any structural damage. There should be an update on his status in the coming days, but fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until the weekend, even if he checks out completely fine. Rotoworld Today, 12:02 pm

  • Sits against left-hander
Busch is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Phillies.

Advice: Southpaw Cristopher Sanchez will be toeing the rubber for the Phillies, so the left-handed hitting Busch will grab a seat. Patrick Wisdom will handle first base and also the second spot in the Cubs' batting order. Rotowire.com Today, 8:17 am

  • Sitting against left-hander
Garcia is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Garcia slugged a pair of home runs in Wednesday's win over the Mets but nonetheless finds himself on the bench a day later with southpaw Jose Quintana on the hill. Ildemaro Vargas will be at second base for the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 6:12 am

  • Stingy in Wednesday's win
Fedde (6-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-2 victory over the Guardians, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The right-hander produced his ninth quality start of the season, and fourth in his last five trips to the mound, on 91 pitches (54 strikes). Fedde's control wasn't as sharp as usual -- he walked multiple batters for the first time since May 31 -- but Cleveland wasn't able to take advantage. Since the beginning of June. Fedde sports a 3.16 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB through 37 innings, and his value is only increasing if the White Sox decide to move him before the trade deadline. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 5:34 am
