• Justin Steele throws complete game for first win
Justin Steele went the distance for his first win of 2024, pitching a two-hitting in a 5-1 game against the Angels.

Advice: The Cubs didn’t need to turn to their shaky pen this time out, as Steele finished off the Angels in just 95 pitches. He struck out seven and walked two for his first win in 13 starts this season and 18 outings dating back to last year, when he opened up 16-3 before going 0-2 in his final four turns and perhaps costing himself a Cy Young Award. Of course, it was hardly his fault that he was 0-3 this year coming into this one. His ERA stands at 2.95 after this one. Rotoworld Today, 2:32 pm

  • Throws complete game for first win
Steele (1-3) earned the win against the Angels on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over nine innings.

Advice: Steele needed just 95 pitches to toss his first career complete game. The only blemish was an RBI single by Taylor Ward in the fifth, but the lefty responded by retiring 13 consecutive batters to seal his much overdue first win of the year. The 29-year-old has logged six straight quality starts and owns a 2.95 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 77:18 K:BB over 79.1 innings this season. He lines up for a road matchup with the Orioles next week. • Another three-hit performance
Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third inning before recording a hit in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last four games, and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July, and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind Steven Kwan (.367). • Belts three-run homer
Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk against the Yankees in an 8-4 victory Thursday.

Advice: Steer gave the Reds a 5-0 lead with his three-run blast to the short porch in right field in the fifth inning. The long ball was his 11th of the campaign, and he's just shy of the halfway point to reaching the 23 homers he hit last season. Steer also has 54 RBI, 41 runs and 13 stolen bases through 355 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 pm

  • Witt Jr. a triple shy of the cycle against Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 14th of the season. He took Pete Fairbanks deep with a solo shot in the ninth inning. Witt Jr. remains one of the best hitters in fantasy this season. He’s hitting .319 with a .925 OPS and 58 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:53 pm

  • Lowe fills up stat sheet against Royals Thursday
Josh Lowe went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Lowe’s stolen base was his sixth of the season. He drove in Isaac Paredes with an RBI double in the first inning and scored on Ben Rortvedt’s two-run single in the fifth inning. Jose Siri pinch hit for him later in the game with a left-handed pitcher on the mound. Lowe is hitting just .223 with a .709 OPS and 14 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:50 pm

  • Bobby Miller no longer starting Sunday vs. Brewers
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Bobby Miller will not start on Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Roberts elaborated that Miller is healthy, but the Dodgers want to give him some extra time instead of taking the ball on just four days of rest after allowing two runs over five innings on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks. It’ll be a bullpen game for Los Angeles instead. Miller will presumably take the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Phillies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:04 pm
  • Won't start on regular rest
Miller won't start Sunday against Milwaukee, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Miller would have been available on four days' rest to start Sunday, but the Dodgers will opt to give him at least two extra days to recover. He's struggled in three starts since returning from the injured list, posting a combined 7:9 K:BB with a 6.75 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:01 pm
  • Impresses in loss
Henderson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Henderson opened the scoring with his third-inning blast, which was his first homer in seven games. The shortstop remains excellent atop the Orioles' order, having gone 15-for-41 (.366) over his last 10 contests. On the year, he's up to 27 homers, 60 RBI, 75 runs scored, 13 stolen bases and a .289/.382/.605 slash line through 86 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:04 pm
