• Scratched for series finale
The Mariners scratched Raley from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays for an unspecified reason, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The team will likely provide an explanation for Raley's late scratch later Wednesday. Ryan Bliss will enter the lineup as a replacement for Raley, covering second base while Dylan Moore covers Raley's spot in left field. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Ryan Noda stays red hot in Triple-A
Ryan Noda homered in a second straight game for Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Advice: Noda didn’t immediately turn things around after his demotion to Triple-A at the beginning of May, but he’s now hit .288/.436/.675 with eight homers in his last 22 games. The A’s are committed to Tyler Soderstrom at first base at the moment, so unless they want to give Brent Rooker a bunch more outfield time, there’s no room for Noda at the moment. A Rooker trade might change that next month. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

  • Kody Clemens (back) homers in rehab appearance
Kody Clemens went 3-for-5 with a homer in his fourth rehab game for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Advice: There was a report last week indicating that Clemens would be mostly used in left field on his rehab assignment, but he’s started just one game there thus far. He played second last night, and he’s also started at first base and DH’d once. With seven hits, including two homers and two doubles in his last three games, he appears ready to return from the back spasms that sidelined him for three weeks. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

  • On fire at Triple-A
Noel is slashing .402/.471/.705 with nine home runs and a 14.5 percent strikeout rate in his last 30 games for Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: With Kyle Manzardo failing to take a big-league job and run with it and Noel already being on the 40-man roster, Noel could get a shot as Cleveland's designated hitter sometime this summer. The righty-hitting slugger has huge raw power, and while he has seen 25 starts in the corner outfield spots this season, he's probably too big (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) to get regular starts in the outfield at the highest level. • Gio Urshela gets Wednesday off for Tigers
Gio Urshela is out of the Tigers lineup Wednesday for the first time since June 15.

Advice: Urshela, who is hitting .253/.292/.322 on the season, didn’t seem likely to play quite this much when he came off the IL last month, but injuries to Kerry Carpenter and Javier Báez have eliminated any real need to get Matt Vierling and Andy Ibáñez playing time at third. Vierling is playing the hot corner today on what’s probably just a routine day off for Urshela. Rotoworld Today, 7:07 am

  • Resting for day game
Urshela is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: He'll take a seat for the day game after a night game, paving the way for Matt Vierling to pick up a start at third base. Urshela had been included in the Detroit lineup in each of the last nine games, going just 4-for-34 at the plate to bring his batting average down to .253 for the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:01 am

  • Swipes first bag of season
Tellez went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: The burly first baseman stole the fourth bag of his career, and his first since 2022, in the first inning as the Pirates grabbed an early 3-0 lead. Tellez has been enjoying his strong-side platoon role in June -- through 59 plate appearances this month, he's slashing .352/.407/.500 with five doubles, a homer, six runs and 11 RBI. • Salvages day with late homer
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Toglia was hitless in his first three at-bats but saved his stat line in the ninth inning by taking Josh Hader yard on a solo homer. The first baseman has homered on back-to-back nights and has belted four long balls in his last 10 games, batting 10-for-39 (.256) with nine runs and nine RBI during that stretch. • Drives in three in win
Arias went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 10-8 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Arias has been in the lineup for the last two games since he returned from the family medical emergency list. The utility man provided a two-run double in the second inning and an RBI single in the eighth as one of four Guardians to log multiple hits in the contest. Arias is slashing .231/.262/.358 with two home runs, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and four stolen bases on six attempts over 141 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:15 pm
