• Drawing fifth straight start
Schneemann will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Schneemann will make his fifth straight start and will occupy his third different position over that span. The utility player has already been used at six different positions since being called up at the beginning of the month and is maintaining a 1.115 OPS over his first 33 big-league plate appearances. • Working behind opener
Howard is expected to serve as the Giants' bulk reliever Wednesday against the Cubs behind opening pitcher Erik Miller.

Advice: Howard worked as a starter his last time out Friday against the Angels, but he was roughed up for four earned runs on seven hits and four walks before he was pulled from the game midway through the third inning. The Giants will have him work behind Miller on Wednesday with the hope of generating better results from the right-hander. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:49 am
  • Clubs homer No. 10
Burleson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: The 25-year-old's shot off Roddery Munoz in the fourth inning was the third of three long balls by the Cardinals on the night, but the offense managed only one more run after that. Burleson is up to 10 homers on the season, and five of them have come in June. Despite the power surge, however, he's slashing just .254/.286/.507 in 70 plate appearances this month, and has produced just seven RBI. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:30 am

  • Burleson has two hits, HR in loss
Alec Burleson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a loss to the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: It was Burleson’s 10th home run of the season to go along with 25 RBIs. It’s also his fifth home run in June alone. The 25-year-old continues to make a lot of contact while hitting near the top of the Cardinal’s lineup and with the power starting to tick up, he deserves to be in fantasy lineups in almost all league types. • Gives up season-high six runs
Vasquez (1-4) took the loss after he gave up six runs in 4.1 innings Monday against the Phillies. He allowed 12 hits, walked two and struck out two.

Advice: Vasquez was knocked around by the Phillies on Monday, and the 12 hits he allowed were a career high for the righty. Home runs by Kyle Schwarber and Alec Bohm accounted for most of the damage, but Vasquez was working around baserunners all evening. The 25-year-old has now given up at least three runs in seven of his nine starts this season and has a 5.70 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB across 42.2 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:18 pm

  • Randy Vásquez allows six runs in loss to Phillies
Randy Vásquez was lit up for six runs over 4 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Vásquez was tagged for an astounding 12 hits, including a pair of homers, and was saddled with his fourth loss of the year. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks. The 25-year-old righty is not a recommended fantasy option when he takes the ball on Saturday against the Brewers. Rotoworld Monday, 6:32 pm

  • Taking seat versus lefty
Burleson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: After starting in each of the Cardinals' last 29 games, Burleson will finally get a break in the series opener in Miami. With southpaw Braxton Garrett on the bump for Miami, Cardinals skipper Oliver Marmol likely viewed it as an opportune time to give the lefty-hitting Burleson a day off. Dylan Carlson will step in for Burleson in right field. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:42 am

  • Garners no run support
Taillon (3-3) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Cardinals. He struck out three.

Advice: Taillon scattered baserunners throughout, completing only a single 1-2-3 inning, but was able to limit the damage with the only runs coming on a second-inning two-run homer by Pedro Pages. However, Taillon was given no run support and left the game after six still facing that same two-run deficit. It was the second consecutive quality start for Taillon, who has allowed just two runs in 12 innings over those two starts after having allowed 14 runs over 21.1 innings in his previous four. He'll look to keep things rolling the next time he toes the rubber, which is likely to be next weekend when the Mets roll into the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. • Belts first career homer
Schneemann went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Sunday's loss to Toronto.

Advice: Schneemann took Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios deep in the sixth inning to record his first big-league home run. The rookie third-baseman has more than held his own since making his MLB debut June 2, slashing .375/.483/.667 with one home run, five RBI and four runs scored across 29 plate appearances.
