    Advice: Red Sox pitching coach Andrew Bailey said Hendriks has been throwing "half-mound" sessions, but Wednesday's activity marks the reliever's first session throwing on the top of the mound since undergoing Tommy John elbow surgery last August. Wesneski hasn’t thrown more than two innings since May 13, so this won’t be a particularly long start, especially if he doesn’t perform better than he has lately; he’s given up six runs and four homers over 7 1/3 innings in his last six appearances.     Roansy Contreras will start on Wednesday against the Athletics.

    Advice: It’s a favorable matchup for streaming purposes, but Contreras is too risky to roll the dice on, with the notable exception of extremely deep mixed leagues or AL-only formats. The 24-year-old former prospect was acquired last month from the Pirates in a small trade and has fared reasonably well in nine relief appearances for Los Angeles.     Advice: It will be his first time throwing off a mound since he underwent Tommy John surgery in early August of last year. Hendriks is hoping to join the Red Sox' relief corps at some point during the final two months of this season, and while that's possible, the bigger-picture goal is having him healthy and ready to roll as a member of Boston's 2025 bullpen.     Advice: The Red Sox have used Winckowski mostly out of the bullpen this season, but he started in six of his seven appearances at Triple-A while posting a 2.87 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and a 19/11 K/BB ratio in 31 1/3 innings.
