• Jack Suwinski homers and walks in victory
Jack Suwinski hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Suwinski also drew a walk. The 25-year-old showed some fantasy promise at times in 2024, and while there’s still 90-plus games to go for the Pirates and the outfielder, he has not lived up to that promise this season with a .173/.270/.315 slash. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm
  • Charlie Blackmon homers, doubles twice in loss
Charlie Blackmon homered and doubled twice in a 5-2 loss for the Rockies to the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: It comes in a losing effort, but it’s another big offensive game for Blackmon. The veteran outfielder was hitting .224 on May 26, and that number is now .266 after the three-hit night. The homer came off David Bednar in the ninth, and Colorado trailed 5-2 after the solo blast. Still counts. Blackmon’s a name to keep an eye on based on how he’s played since the end of May, and because he gets to play his home games in a very silly park. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm
  • McCutchen homers in win over Rockies
Andrew McCutchen hit a homer and scored two runs in a 5-2 win for the Pirates over the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: McCutchen is now up to nine homers with his solo shot off Ryan Feltner; one of three homers the Bucs hit against Feltner in the contest. The 37-year-old outfielder also doubled for the sixth time in 2024. It’s a far cry from his MVP status a few years ago, but the pair of extra-base hits improves his slash to a respectable — if modest — .239/.339/.394 over the first 69 games of the campaign. • Ryan Feltner strikes out eight, allows three homers
Ryan Felter allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings to get a loss against the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: Feltner struck out eight, which is good. He also allowed three homers, which is bad. The loss pushes his record to 1-6, and while that’s all his fault, the 27-year-old’s 5.71 ERA suggest it’s not necessarily bad luck. Feltner should not legally be allowed to be in fantasy lineups next week against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm

  • Luis Ortiz works five in relief, allows one run in win
Luis Ortiz worked five innings of relief while allowing one run to get a win Friday over the Rockies.

Advice: Ortiz worked behind opener Carmen Mlodzinski. The right-hander gave up seven hits, so he was a little fortunate to allow just the one run. He did help his case by not issuing a walk and fanning three, however. Ortiz doesn’t have another outing scheduled, but there’s a good chance he works in bulk again over the weekend against the Rays. • Hits first homer of season
Taylor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Royals.

Advice: This was Taylor's first homer and second extra-base hit over 106 plate appearances this season. The veteran utility man has a pitiful .108/.200/.151 slash line with nine RBI, six runs scored and one stolen base over 39 contests. Taylor is usually able to carve out a steady role as a short-side platoon option at a variety of positions, but his poor hitting and the Dodgers' good health with their batters has prevented the 33-year-old from seeing anything close to regular playing time. • Homers in comeback win
Rojas went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Royals.

Advice: Rojas sparked the Dodgers' comeback with his fifth-inning homer off Cole Ragans. The long ball was Rojas' first since April 3. The infielder has three multi-hit efforts over his last eight games, but he's also gone hitless three times in that span. For the season, he's at a .280/.330/.449 slash line with three homers, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and three stolen bases over 115 plate appearances. Rojas appears to be out of the mix for time at third base following the Dodgers' trade for Cavan Biggio. It's likely Rojas will settle into a short-side platoon role at second base going forward, sharing the position with Gavin Lux. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:52 pm

  • Secures third save
Vesia allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Royals.

Advice: Most of the Dodgers' bullpen had pitched twice over the last three days, including regular closer Evan Phillips. The two freshest relievers were Vesia and Daniel Hudson, who earned the win after pitching the eighth inning. Vesia is on an 8.2-inning scoreless streak with a 13:1 K:BB, two saves and two holds in that span. He continues to impress this season with a 1.13 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB over 32 innings. He's up to three saves and four holds, so while he hasn't often been rewarded for his strong pitching, he's still capable of handling high-leverage assignments. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:48 pm

  • Mitch Garver connects on two-run homer in win
Mitch Garver hit a two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 3-2 win over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Garver tied the game at 2-2 in the first inning with a blast that scored J-Rod in the first inning. The veteran backstop/DH has been swinging the bat much better as of late, and he’s now homered eight times with 25 RBI. Garver’s slash of .176/.300/.352 isn’t aesthetically pleasing, but again, those numbers aren’t indicative of the last few weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:39 pm
