• Optioned to Triple-A
The Yankees optioned Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Advice: Andrews was selected from Triple-A earlier Tuesday, and he will now head back to the minors immediately following New York's loss to the Mariners -- though now he has a spot on the 40-man roster. The left-hander only pitched one-third of an inning against Seattle, allowing a solo home run to Luke Raley in the process. Although Andrews has been serviceable in the minors since being DFA'd in mid-April, his career 27.00 ERA through 3.2 big-league innings may cause the Yankees to look elsewhere if they need to rely on their organizational bullpen depth later in the year. • Corey Julks tallies one steal, two RBI vs. Jays
Corey Julks went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a steal in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Julks laced a two-RBI single in the fifth inning off Yusei Kikuchi to give the White Sox a 3-0 lead, and has now hit safely in three of his first four games this season. Julks was called up from Triple-A Charlotte last week after the White Sox acquired him in a trade just days before. Julks has now homered and driven in three runs, and should continue getting opportunities as long as he stays hot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm
  • Activated Tuesday
McCormick (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: McCormick has missed all of May with hamstring soreness, but he'll return to the active roster after a six-game rehab stint. The 29-year-old went 5-for-23 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base in the minors. While McCormick should end up as the Astros' starting left fielder, he's likely to split time with Joey Loperfido and could see more DH work considering the fragility of a hamstring injury. • Astros active Chas McCormick (hamstring) off IL
Astros activated OF Chas McCormick off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Trey Cabbage was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. McCormick missed three weeks with his right hamstring strain. The outfielder should get a chance to play, but Houston does have a bit of an outfield jam with Joey Loperfido and Jake Meyers also likely to see time for Houston. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:06 pm
  • Tigers undecided on when to activate Kenta Maeda
The Tigers have yet to make a decision on whether they’ll activate Kenta Maeda to start this week.

Advice: Maeda allowed one run and struck out six in three-plus innings for Triple-A Toledo in his rehab start Sunday. He’s expected to get another shot in the Detroit rotation, but the Tigers could ask him to make one more rehab start and use Matt Manning again this week. Rotoworld Monday, 3:06 pm

  • Goes three innings in rehab start
Maeda (illness) allowed one run on three hits and no walks and struck out six over three innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Advice: He threw 53 pitches in the outing. Maeda will throw a bullpen session either Tuesday or Wednesday, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News, and a decision as to whether he'll require another rehab start hasn't yet been made. It's possible he could return from the 15-day injured list to start for the Tigers as soon as Friday versus the Blue Jays, but more should be known about his status in the coming days. • Won't be activated Monday
Astros manager Joe Espada said that McCormick (hamstring) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the Angels, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: However, McCormick is with the Astros at Minute Maid Park and will go through a pregame workout. His activation will come "soon," per Espada, with Tuesday seeming like a distinct possibility. McCormick has been out for all of May with a right hamstring injury. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:20 pm
  • Yankees bring up Clayton Andrews from AAA
Yankees selected the contract of LHP Clayton Andrews from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Andrews has allowed 11 runs on eight hits in 15 innings while striking out 18 but walking 12. The Yankees put him on waivers in April but he went unclaimed. He was promoted after Ian Hamilton was placed on the COVID-19 IL. Rotoworld Monday, 12:23 pm

  • Rays activate Brandon Lowe for Monday return
Rays activated 2B Brandon Lowe from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: It’s hard to feel too confident about Lowe considering he experienced multiple setbacks during his rehab assignment and had to see a specialist. However, the Rays feel that he’s healthy enough to return; however, he was hitting just .185/.267/.333 with a homer and four RBI in eight games before being sidelined. Lowe has produced power in the past, but we also know that he will sit against left-handed pitching and the batting average will not be much of a help in fantasy leagues, which makes him tough to roster outside of deeper daily moves leagues.
