    • Knocks in three runs in rout
Moreno went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and three RBI against the Rockies in Thursday's 16-1 Opening Day victory.

Advice: All of Moreno's production came in Arizona's 14-run third inning, during which the backstop recorded a run-scoring single and a two-run double. The 24-year-old dealt with a back injury in spring training but appears back to full health to begin the regular season. He's locked in as the Diamondback's primary catcher after slashing .284/.339/.408 with seven homers, 50 RBI and six steals during his first full big-league campaign last year. • Begins Boston tenure with big game
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and two total runs in Thursday's 6-4 Opening Day victory against the Mariners.

Advice: After six seasons with St. Louis, O'Neill started in right field and batted fifth in his Red Sox debut. The 28-year-old displayed both his power and his speed for his new team, swiping second base following a walk in the second inning and capping the scoring in the contest with an eighth-inning solo shot. O'Neill certainly has the skill set to be an impactful fantasy asset, but his health is a question mark -- over his final two seasons with the Cardinals, he played in just 168 of a possible 324 regular-season games. • Records Opening Day save
Jansen earned a save against the Mariners on Thursday, issuing one walk and striking out two batters in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Jansen entered in the ninth inning with Boston holding a two-run lead and worked around a leadoff walk to close out the victory. The veteran closer missed most of spring training due to separate lat and back injuries, but that didn't prevent him from getting the call on Opening Day. Jansen's recent campaigns haven't been quite as dominant as his peak years with the Dodgers, but he's recorded 70 saves over the past two seasons and is locked in as Boston's closer as he pushes toward becoming the fourth pitcher in MLB history to reach 450 career saves. • Goes seven strong to earn win
Lopez (1-0) tossed seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and seven strikeouts to earn the victory in Minnesota's 4-1 win at Kansas City on Opening Day.

Advice: It took Lopez just 84 pitches to complete seven frames as he walked none in a dominant effort. His lone blemish in the box score was a leadoff home run by Royals' third baseman Maikel Garcia, but otherwise Lopez was in control, throwing first-pitch strikes to 18 of the 24 batters he faced. Lopez earned his first all-star appearance in his first season with Minnesota last season and is looking to build on what was a high-quality 2023 season in which he set career-highs with 194.0 innings pitched, 11 wins and 234 strikeouts. • Picks up win on Opening Day
Berrios (1-0) went 6.0 innings and allowed two runs on six hits and one walk during Thursday's win over the Rays. He struck out six.

Advice: After kicking off 2023 with two straight losses, Berrios wasted no time getting in the win column to start the 2024 campaign, going six strong against Tampa Bay. Berrios was tagged for a solo homer by Yandy Diaz on just his fifth pitch of the game. However, he limited Rays' hitters two through five to a combined 0-for-11 with a walk. Berrios's next start is tentatively scheduled to come against the Astros. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:47 pm
    • Gabriel Moreno plates three as D-Backs crush Rockies
Gabriel Moreno drove in three runs and scored twice while going 2-for-5 in a blowout win for the Diamondbacks on Thursday over the Rockies.

Advice: Moreno doubled in a pair of runs in the third inning, and in that same frame he also singled home a run. The Diamondbacks were able to score 14 runs in that inning, and it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that they were able to win the game. Moreno is a former top prospect who looked the part in the postseason for Arizona last fall, and he could be in for a breakout campaign as a 24-year-old in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:42 pm
    • Strikes out nine in tough loss
Ragans (0-1) tossed six innings of two-run baseball, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out nine while earning the defeat in Thursday's Opening Day 4-1 loss to the Twins.

Advice: Ragans picked up where he left off in 2023 by averaging 15.0 K/9, but not receiving nearly enough run support to earn the loss for Kansas City. The lefty hard-thrower started 12 games for the Royals last season after coming over in a mid-season trade from Texas and posted a 2.64 ERA with 89 strikeouts over 71.2 innings in those 12 starts. He's expected to continue his ascent as one of the top young left-handed starters in the American League this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm
    • Kenley Jansen locks down save against Mariners
Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a pair of strikeouts to pick up a save against the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Jansen walked Mitch Haniger to open the ninth, but he was able to strikeout Dylan Moore and Luke Raley while also getting Ty France to lineout to pick up his first save of the season. Jansen was the subject of trade rumors this offseason — mostly involving his former club the Dodgers — but for now, he remains the closer for Boston, and while he’s not the same pitcher he was a few short years ago, he’s still an effective fantasy option who mostly gets the job done. • Tyler O’Neill homers on fifth straight Opening Day
Tyler O’Neill homered, scored two runs and drew a walk in a 6-4 win for the Red Sox over the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Amazingly, that makes five straight Opening Days that O’Neill has gone deep. This one was a solo shot in the eighth inning off Cody Bolton to extend Boston’s lead to 6-4. O’Neill also came around to score on a fielder’s choice in the fourth on a throw that hit the outfielder in the head on a poor throw from Josh Rojas. O’Neill has shown flashes of brilliance in his time in the majors — occasionally long stretches of them — and he’ll get a chance to hit in the middle of the order to begin 2024 with the Red Sox.
