    • Returns from IL
The Nationals reinstated Ruiz (illness) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Ruiz missed the Nationals' last 11 games while recovering from a case of influenza. He checked out fine after making two rehab appearances with Double-A Harrisburg earlier this week and should settle back in as the Nationals' No. 1 catcher now that he's been activated from the IL. Washington optioned catcher Drew Millas to Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 9:04 am

    • Nationals activate Keibert Ruiz from 10-day IL
Nationals activated C Keibert Ruiz (illness) from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The 25-year-old backstop returns to Washington after he was sidelined with the flu. Ruiz has struggled to start the season slashing .194/.265/.290, but he’s keep his strikeout rate low (15%) so fantasy managers could expect some positive regression coming his way. • Collects ninth steal
Caballero went 1-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.

Advice: The shortstop continues to make an impact on the basepaths. Caballero has gone 4-for-4 on steal attempts over the last six games, and on the season he sports a .272/.302/.432 slash line with two homers, nine stolen bases, 11 runs and 11 RBI in 23 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 am
    • Homer, three hits in win
Henderson went 3-for-3 in Wednesday's win over the Angels with a home run, a double, three RBI and three runs scored. He also stole a base.

Advice: Henderson was hit by a pitch in the opening at-bat to start the game and wasted no time in getting his revenge, taking Tyler Anderson deep for a leadoff home run in his next trip to the plate to put the Orioles up 1-0. The star shortstop would then add a double and a two-run single in his next two-at bats while also being hit by a pitch for the second time in the contest. Henderson has now homered in back-to-back games and also extended his hitting streak to five games with Wednesday's performance. Even more impressive is the fact that he's tallied multiple hits in seven of his last 10 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am
    • Lasts just four innings in loss
Miller (3-2) took the loss against Texas on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over four-plus innings.

Advice: Miller made it through three scoreless frames before the Rangers got to him for a pair of solo homers in the fourth. The right-hander did come back out to the mound for the fifth frame, but he was pulled after issuing a leadoff walk, having thrown 83 pitches to that point. Miller's three-game quality start streak was thus snapped, as was his three-game win streak. He'll try to get back on track the next time he takes the mound, which lines up to be this weekend in Houston. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:25 pm
    • Bryce Miller inefficient in loss to Rangers
Bryce Miller allowed two runs with five strikeouts over four innings in a loss against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Miller worked around two walks in the first inning, striking out the side. He tossed two more scoreless innings before Adolis García and Evan Carter went back-to-back for a pair of solo homers in the fourth. Two more runners would reach in the inning on a walk and a base hit before Miller could escape the frame. He’d be done after four on 83 pitches, walking a season-high four batters while striking out five. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 2.22 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 29/11 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings. Miller is in line for a tough matchup against the Braves in Seattle on Monday. • Enters free agency
Walsh cleared waivers Wednesday and elected to become a free agent.

Advice: Walsh was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Saturday to make room for Nathaniel Lowe's return from the IL, and the 30-year-old first baseman will now take his chances in the open market. He is slashing .226/.317/.321 with a home and seven RBI through 60 plate appearances on the year and should be able to at least secure a minor-league deal with another organization. • Shohei Ohtani raises average to .371 in blowout
Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday in the Dodgers’ blowout win over the Nationals.

Advice: We’re running out of superlatives to describe Ohtani’s exploits. He doubled three times in the one-sided affair, including a pair of runs-scoring knocks in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively, to raise his batting average to an astronomical .371 (39-for-105) in the process. The 29-year-old two-way fantasy superstar has put together an unbelievable Dodgers debut so far with a 1.128 OPS to go along with 22 runs scored, six homers, 16 RBI and five steals through 26 games. • Rangers outright Jared Walsh to Triple-A
Rangers sent 1B Jared Walsh outright to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: It’s a bit surprising to see the 30-year-old slugger pass through waivers unclaimed, though he hit just .226/.317/.321 with a homer and seven RBI in 60 plate appearances with the Rangers while covering for the injured Nathaniel Lowe. He’ll continue to function as excess depth at Triple-A. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:51 pm
