    • Trevor Megill records one-out save vs. Red Sox
Trevor Megill got the final out to get a save Saturday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Megill did give up a hit, but he was able to get the final out via strikeout to procure his eighth save of 2024 and lowered his ERA to 1.93 in the process. There’s obviously loads of reasons to think he’ll continue to see save chances while Devin Williams remains out with injury. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:02 pm

    • Kyle Finnegan handles M’s in ninth to get save
Kyle Finnegan didn’t allow a hit while picking up save Saturday against the Mariners.

Advice: Finnegan didn’t get a strike out, but he also didn’t allow a hit while facing the middle of the Seattle lineup. The 32-year-old is already up to 14 saves, and he has lowered his ERA to 1.80. Contenders have certainly taken notice of his work in 2024. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:29 pm

    • Jordan Hicks strikes out eight Mets in no-decision
Jordan Hicks allowed one run with eight strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Hicks allowed just two hits and two walks over five frames on Saturday against the Mets. One of those hits left the yard as Starling Marte took him deep for a solo shot in the second inning. Hicks was otherwise excellent, striking out eight batters on 19 whiffs. His velocity was back up to 95 mph after sitting below 92 mph his last time out. The 27-year-old right-hander has broken out as a starter in San Francisco, posting a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 48/19 K/BB ratio across 58 innings. He lines up for a home matchup against the Yankees on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:54 pm

    • Sharp in eighth win
Lugo (8-1) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings in an 8-1 victory over the Rays. He struck out three.

Advice: The veteran right-hander was stingy once again, giving up two earned runs or fewer for the sixth straight start despite a lack of dominance Friday (only eight swinging strikes among his 104 pitches). Lugo has gone 5-0 over that aforementioned six-start stretch with a 1.52 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 47:8 K:BB through 41.1 innings, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next week in Minnesota. • Coughs up five runs
Paxton allowed five runs on five hits and four walks over 4.2 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out four during the Dodgers' loss to the Reds.

Advice: Paxton got off to a rough start by yielding a three-run shot to Spencer Steer in the first inning. The Reds's bats then went quiet until a six-run fifth inning. Paxton was charged with two of those as he gave up a season-high five runs during his shortest outing of the year. The veteran southpaw saw his ERA jump from 2.84 to 3.49 through 49 frames. Paxton is still 5-0 despite some recent struggles (4.13 ERA over his last five starts). His next outing is projected to come on the road against the Mets next week. • James Paxton struggles in Cincinnati
James Paxton allowed five earned runs in 4 ⅔ to the Reds on Friday. He walked four and struck out four.

Advice: It’s a marvel Paxton’s ERA remains a respectable 3.49 despite the same exact number of walks and strikeouts through nine starts. The five wins are nice and a byproduct of pitching for the Dodgers, but the bottom can and will fall out from under Paxton at any moment if he can’t strike more batters out. • Seth Lugo defeats Rays to improve to 8-1
Seth Lugo delivered another dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Rays, surrendering just one run on four hits over seven strong frames.

Advice: Lugo punched out three batters on the evening while issuing a pair of walks. The lone tally against him came on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jonathan Aranda in the opening inning. After that, he was brilliant. The 34-year-old right-hander generated eight swings and misses on 104 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 19 percent. Now 8-1 on the season, he’ll carry a stellar 1.74 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 61/15 K/BB ratio (72 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Twins in Minnesota. Rotoworld Friday, 6:24 pm

    • Locks down 12th save
Iglesias struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Iglesias has converted his last four save chances since a blown save May 3 versus the Dodgers. He's allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over his last six innings, so it hasn't been the smoothest of stretches for the veteran closer. On the year, he's 12-for-14 in save chances with a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over 19.1 innings. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:13 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias fans two Thursday for 12th save
Raisel Iglesias fired a perfect ninth inning on Thursday against the Cubs to collect his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Iglesias received the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 12 pitches (nine strikes) to end it. The 34-year-old veteran stopper has been one of the top closers in the entire fantasy landscape this season, converting 12 of 14 save chances to accompany a solid 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14/5 K/BB ratio across 19 1/3 innings (20 appearances).
