    • Nationals-White Sox postponed
Williams and the Nationals won't play Monday against the White Sox after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Chicago, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday. Williams' next start will simply be pushed back a day to one half of the twin bill, and the White Sox will do the same with their scheduled starter for Monday, Chris Flexen. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:45 pm

    • White Sox-Nationals PPD, doubleheader Tuesday
Monday’s game between the White Sox and Nationals has been postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday.

Advice: It’ll be a straight doubleheader, with the first game beginning at 3:40 p.m. CDT. The teams will use tonight’s previously scheduled starters, Chris Flexen and Trevor Williams, in Game 1 and go with Tuesday’s scheduled starters, Erick Fedde and Mitchell Parker, in Game 2. • Still feeling ill
Manager John Schneider said Monday that Springer is out of the lineup for the Blue Jays' series opener in Baltimore because he's still feeling sick, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: After sitting out Friday and Saturday due to the ailment, Springer returned to the lineup for Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Twins and played nine innings in right field while going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Despite playing a full game, Springer apparently hasn't completely shaken the illness, so he'll be back on the bench Monday. A bug seems to be making its way around the clubhouse, as Kevin Kiermaier and Justin Turner are out of the lineup for the fourth and second consecutive games, respectively, due to illnesses of their own. • George Springer again sidelined by illness
George Springer, who missed games Friday and Saturday before going 0-for-4 on Sunday, is again sidelined due to illness on Monday.

Advice: It seems he, Justin Turner and Kevin Kiermaier all have the same thing. Cavan Biggio is playing right field in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
    • Taking seat Monday
Springer is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Springer made his return from a two-game absence due to an illness in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Twins, starting in right field and playing all nine innings while going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. The Blue Jays haven't indicated that Springer is still feeling under the weather, so his absence Monday is likely just a pre-planned maintenance day as he works his way back to full strength following the bout with the illness. Cavan Biggio will replace Springer in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:34 pm
    • Dominant in win
Lugo (6-1) allowed one run on five hits while striking out 12 and walking none over eight innings to earn the win over the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Quality of opponent aside, Lugo was excellent Sunday. He landed 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. It was also his first start without issuing a walk. The right-hander is now at a 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 59.2 innings over nine starts. Lugo's had good moments both as a starter and a reliever in his career, but his start to 2024 is a completely new level for the 34-year-old. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:45 pm

    • Seth Lugo strikes out 12 in victory over Angels
Seth Lugo delivered a dominant performance in Sunday’s victory over the Angels, racking up a career-high 12 strikeouts over eight innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits on the afternoon and didn’t walk a single batter. The only blemish on his day came in the form of a run-scoring double off the bat of Willie Calhoun in the sixth inning, otherwise he was masterful. Lugo generated a whopping 17 swings and misses on 112 pitches in the ballgame — eight of those on his curveball — while registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. He has been unbelievable for the Royals this season, posting a 6-1 record, 1.66 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 48/12 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings in his first nine starts. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he takes on the Athletics at home on Saturday. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:48 pm

    • Giants place Michael Conforto (hamstring) on IL
Giants placed OF Michael Conforto on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger sustained the injury as he was rounding first base during Saturday’s game against the Reds. No word yet on how long exactly he’ll be sidelined for. Luis Matos was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move to provide depth in the Giants’ outfield while Conforto is shelved. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:34 pm

    • George Springer goes 0-for-4 in loss to Twins
George Springer went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: The Blue Jays still haven’t wavered on Springer in the leadoff spot, but maybe it’s time. He’s down to .200/.273/.290, and while Statcast thinks he’s been awfully unlucky, he’s still trending in the wrong direction in recent weeks. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:30 pm
