• Wenceel Perez leads Tigers past Twins on Friday
Wenceel Perez went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI on Friday night, leading the Tigers to a 5-4 victory over the Twins in Minnesota.

Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder tied up the score at 2-2 in the third inning with an RBI single off of Joe Ryan. He then swiped second base and dashed around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI single by Kerry Carpenter. He then led off the sixth inning with a triple off of Ryan and once again scored on a Carpenter single. With two outs in the ninth inning, the Twins opted to walk Mark Canha intentionally to face Perez, who responded by delivering an RBI single to center that gave the Tigers the 5-4 advantage. He has been great in his limited action so far, hitting .313/.353/.500 with two RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 17 plate appearances. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

  • Tyler Freeman hits two-run homer against A’s
Tyler Freeman went 2-for-4 and hit a two-run homer against the A’s on Friday.

Advice: The homer was about as light as homers get; it left Freeman’s bat at 89.5 mph and was projected at 331 feet. Statcast says it wouldn’t have been a homer anywhere else. Freeman, though, deserved the break, considering he entered the night with an xBA that was 50 points higher than his actual .192 average. He’s not an option in standard mixed leagues, but he could surprise and prove rather useful in deeper formats. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

  • Jack Flaherty strikes out 10 in no-decision Friday
Jack Flaherty was terrific in a no-decision against the Twins on Friday night, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits across six strong innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander piled up 10 strikeouts on the night while issuing just one free pass. He served up a two-out, two-run homer to Trevor Larnach in the opening inning, which accounted for all of the earned damage against him, though the Twins scratched out a pair of unearned runs to tie the game in the sixth inning. Flaherty generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on the night — nine on his knuckle curve alone — while posting an elite CSW of 39 percent. He’ll carry a 4.44 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 30/4 K/BB ratio (24 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Rays in Tampa Bay. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Trevor Larnach goes deep in loss to Tigers Friday
Trevor Larnach went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI on Friday night as the Twins fell to the Tigers in the opener of their three-game weekend series.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugger got the Twins on the board in a hurry, crushing a 415-foot (106.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Jack Flaherty that gave the Twins a 2-1 lead in the home half of the first inning. He also singled in the contest. With his two-hit attack, Larnach is now hitting .300/.300/.600 with a homer and two RBI through his first 10 at-bats on the season. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Alec Marsh blanks Orioles into sixth inning
Alec Marsh didn’t allow a run while striking out six over 5 2/3 innings against the Orioles on Friday to pick up a victory.

Advice: Marsh allowed just three hits with two walks. The right-hander gave up just one extra-base knock — a double by Antony Santander — in what was one of the best starts of the 25-year-old’s career. Marsh has now made two starts against Baltimore this year, and he’s allowed one run over 12 2/3 innings in those outings. He’ll try and replicate this success against the Blue Jays next week. • Travis d’Arnaud hits three homers in Braves’ win
Travis d’Arnaud hit three homers to drive in six runs and power the Braves past the Rangers 8-3 on Friday.

Advice: There weren’t any cheapies either, as d’Arnaud’s homers were projected at 429, 440 and 433 feet. With a chance at a fourth in the bottom of the eighth, d’Arnaud grounded out against Austin Pruitt. It’s d’Arnaud’s second career three-homer game, the other coming with the Rays in 2019. He had been without a homer in 48 plate appearances this season, but his OPS jumped from .561 to .819 tonight. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Andrew Heaney gives up two homers to Braves
Andrew Heaney yielded three runs in five innings Friday in a no-decision against the Braves.

Advice: Travis d’Arnaud hit two of his three homers off Heaney to ruin the left-hander’s night. Still, this wasn’t a bad showing, considering the opponent. He’ll be a decent play in mixed leagues with a start against the Mariners next on the schedule. His rotation spot likely will come into jeopardy next month if Max Scherzer and Cody Bradford returned when hoped. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Moves into rotation
The Rockies announced Friday that Lambert will enter the starting rotation while Kyle Freeland (elbow) is on the injured list, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Lambert failed to make the Rockies' rotation out of spring training, but Freeland's injury will give the 27-year-old righty another opportunity. Lambert has appeared in six games this year, surrendering three earned runs across 11.2 innings while striking out 10 batters and walking six. He's in line to make his first start in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus Seattle. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

  • Falls to Cincinnati
Anderson (2-2) took the loss Friday against the Reds, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Anderson was sharp Friday, holding Cincinnati to an unearned run in the second inning before Tyler Stephenson homered in the sixth. However, the Angels could only muster a lone run off Nick Lodolo before the Reds broke the game open against the bullpen, sticking Anderson with a second straight loss. The left-hander has gone seven innings in three of his first four starts this year, posting an impressive 1.42 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB after struggling to a 5.43 ERA in 25 starts last season. Anderson will look to snap his brief losing streak in his next outing, currently slated for next week against Baltimore. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
