    • Craig Kimbrel earns 23rd save against A’s
Craig Kimbrel recorded his 23rd save Sunday with a scoreless ninth against the A’s.

Advice: Kimbrel has been denied a 10th career All-Star nod, at least for now. His 2.10 ERA seemed worthy, and it’s sort of a surprise that Clay Holmes was picked over him, something that would have been more justifiable a couple of weeks ago. Kimbrel could have and still might become just the 11th pitcher to go to 10 All-Star Games. Clayton Kershaw is the only active pitcher in that club. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:22 pm
    • Ezequiel Tovar goes hitless yet again in loss
Ezequiel Tovar remained hitless for the month of July after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Tovar was the clear choice to serve as the Rockies’ token All-Star a couple of weeks ago, but he’s been brutal of late, going 6-for-50 with one extra-base hit, one RBI, zero runs scored and a 20/0 K/BB in his last 12 games. It’s dropped his OPS from .808 to .734. Ryan McMahon might now be the best bet to be the Rockies’ All-Star, with Cal Quantrill and last year’s All-Star Game MVP Elias Díaz also in the mix. • Expects to play Monday
Correa (finger) expects to be in the lineup Monday versus the White Sox, Audra Martin of Bally Sports North reports.

Advice: Correa exited Sunday's 3-2 win over Houston with a bruised right finger in the first inning, but he explained to Martin after the game that he doesn't expect the injury to sideline him moving forward. The shortstop will look to bring his expectation to fruition in Monday's series opener on the road against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:40 pm

    • Carlos Correa (finger) expects to play on Monday
Carlos Correa (finger) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he expects to return to the Twins’ starting lineup on Monday.

Advice: Correa was pulled from Sunday’s game after being hit by a pitch, but fortunately X-rays came back negative for any structural damage and he’s merely dealing with a right finger contusion. If the 29-year-old shortstop says that he’s good enough to play on Monday, then chances are he’ll be in the Twins’ lineup for their series opener against the White Sox in Chicago. • Snaps out of power slump
Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

Advice: Olson took rookie Michael Mercado deep in the second inning to break out of a 14-game homerless drought. It was Olson's second separate streak of 14 or more games without a homer this season, after only having one such streak all of last season. The 30-year-old entered the game in a 10-for-65 slump with just two extra-base hits and three RBI in his last 18 games, so he'll try to find some positive momentum headed into the All-Star break. • Carlos Correa exits with bruised right finger
Carlos Correa left Sunday’s game against the Astros with a right finger contusion.

Advice: The bad news is that Correa did have to leave the contest after being hit in his right hand. The good news is that it’s just a bruise, and imaging returned negative for the 29-year-old shortstop. Consider Correa day-to-day at this stage, but his status will likely be determined by pain tolerance and swelling for the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:18 pm

    • Dealing with bruised finger
Correa had X-rays come back negative and was diagnosed with a right finger contusion after exiting Sunday's game against the Astros, Audra Martin of Bally Sports North reports.

Advice: Correa was struck by 96-mph pitch during the opening frame of Sunday's contest but appears to have avoided a serious injury. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:13 pm

    • Departs after HBP
Correa was removed from Sunday's game against the Astros after being hit by a pitch in the right hand, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old was plunked in the bottom of the first inning and quickly exited the contest after being looked at by an athletic trainer. The severity of the injury is unclear, but Correa seems likely to be headed for X-rays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:37 am

    • Carlos Correa leaves after HBP vs. Astros
Carlos Correa left Sunday’s game versus the Astros with an apparent injury.

Advice: Correa was hit in the hand by a pitch, and after being visited by trainers, the shortstop was forced to leave the game. The Twins will assuredly have the star shortstop undergo testing to determine the severity of the injury. Kyle Farmer is replacing Correa in the lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:27 am
