    • Paul Goldschmidt powers Cardinals past Cubs
Paul Goldschmidt clobbered a pair of two-run homers on Sunday night, powering the Cardinals to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Cubs.

Advice: The 36-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 424-foot (110.0 mph EV) two-run shot off of Javier Assad in the third inning. He then repeated the process in the fifth inning — that time a 399-foot (104.3 mph) two-run bomb. Goldschmidt finished the evening 2-for-4, raising his season-slash to a still disappointing .222/.298/.345 to go along with six homers, 21 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld May 26, 9:20 pm
    • Homers again Saturday
Steer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: He touched up Walker Buehler in the first inning to give the Reds an early lead. As Mark Sheldon of MLB.com notes, Steer has now gone deep in back-to-back games after entering the series without a homer since May 1 (17 games). His struggles from the middle of the order this month have led the Reds to the cellar in the NL Central, though it's certainly not all his fault. Steer sits with a .227/.341/.403 line with six homers, 35 RBI, 25 runs scored and 11 steals through 50 games this season. Rotowire.com May 26, 1:50 am

    • Spencer Steer homers again as Reds top Dodgers
Spencer Steer homered for the second consecutive game on Saturday, helping to power the Reds to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Dodgers.

Advice: Steer got the scoring started in the opening inning on Saturday, crushing a 362-foot (94.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Walker Buehler. That would wind up being his only hit in four at-bats on the night. On the season, the versatile 26-year-old is slashing .227/.341/.403 with six long balls and 35 RBI. Rotoworld May 25, 6:57 pm

    • Goes yard in Friday's win
Fry went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Friday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Fry has homered five times over his last 13 games, going 14-for-33 (.424) with a 10:6 BB:K in that span. The 28-year-old got a start at catcher versus southpaw Patrick Sandoval in this contest, though manager Stephen Vogt has found room for him in various spots including first base, third base, left field and designated hitter this season. Fry is slashing a stellar .360/.500/.628 with six homers, 19 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases over 114 plate appearances. Rotowire.com May 24, 10:39 pm

    • David Fry stays hot with homer, two hits vs. LAA
David Fry homered while going 2-for-3 in a blowout win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Just like we all expected, Fry has been one of the best hitters in the American League this season. You can’t prove we didn’t expect it, anyway. Fry has gone deep six times in his 35 games, and his slash is a borderline unrealistic .360/.500/.628 over that timeframe. Mainly thanks to catcher-eligibility, Fry has to be rostered right now. • Knocks fifth home run
Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Steer got the Reds' offense started with a three-run blast in the first inning. He snapped a 17-game homerless drought, during which he'd posted an unsightly .527 OPS. Despite a terrific start to 2024 (1.264 OPS through 11 games), Steer now owns a .227/.343/.390 slash line with 17 extra-base hits through 204 plate appearances. Rotowire.com May 24, 8:06 pm
