    • Idle against lefty
Outman isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Friday's game versus the Mets.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Outman will take a seat Friday as the Mets prepare to send southpaw Sean Manaea to the mound for the start of the game. Chris Taylor, Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez will start across the outfield while Outman watches from the dugout. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

    • Held out again Friday
Candelario (illness) remains out of the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Angels.

Advice: There's a bug going around the Reds' clubhouse, as Christian Encarnacion-Strand will also miss a second straight game. Consider Candelario day-to-day. Santiago Espinal will be at third base Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 11:11 am

    • Ketel Marte stays hot Thursday in loss to Giants
Ketel Marte singled on Thursday in the Diamondbacks’ loss to the Giants.

Advice: Marte led off the contest with a single back up the middle off Giants starter Logan Webb. He’s been on an absolute tear of late with eight hits in 14 at-bats over his last three contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:58 pm

    • Max Scherzer could make ’24 debut in early May
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports Max Scherzer (back) could return in early May.

Advice: Scherzer is scheduled to face hitters again on Friday in a 40-pitch live batting practice session and could progress to a minor league rehab assignment shortly afterwards. The 39-year-old veteran righty has made a rapid recovery from offseason back surgery, which was originally expected to keep him on the shelf until late June. It might be too optimistic to expect him to make his season debut in early May, but it can’t be completely ruled out at this juncture. It certainly sounds like he’s going to return to the Rangers’ starting rotation at some point next month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:23 pm

    • Triston McKenzie pitching with torn elbow ligament
The Athletic’s Zack Meisel and Jason Lloyd report Triston McKenzie is pitching through a torn ligament in his right elbow.

Advice: McKenzie opted for the rest and rehabilitation route last year instead of undergoing Tommy John surgery, and insists that he isn’t feeling any pain this season. However, his on-field results have been utterly abysmal with a bloated 6.23 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 5/12 K/BB ratio across 13 innings (three starts). The biggest concerns for fantasy managers are that his fastball velocity (90.9 mph) is down nearly two miles-per-hour from two seasons ago (92.5 mph) when he was completely healthy and he’s walked nearly 20 percent of the batters he’s faced so far. Simply put, McKenzie’s early season performance has been alarming, but there appears to be a possible explanation. Fantasy managers should expect Cleveland to continue carefully managing his workload and hope that his stuff rebounds in the coming weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:01 pm

    • Keeps slugging Wednesday
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Henderson has six homers on the year, including one in each of the last three games. He's also posted four straight multi-hit efforts. The shortstop is thriving as the leadoff hitter in a strong offense, slashing .288/.346/.603 with four stolen bases, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored through 18 contests overall. • Homers again, tallies three hits
Marte went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Marte led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run, jumping on the first pitch he saw from Jordan Wicks to give the Diamondbacks an early 1-0 lead. He then doubled in his next at-bat to lead off the third and singled home a run in the fifth to tie the game at 2-2. The second baseman continues to swing a hot bat and has now recorded at least three hits in back-to-back contests, raising his batting average to .325 in the process. Marte has also homered in two straight games, giving him five long balls in the early campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:07 am

    • Slugs first homer
Garver went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a win over the Reds on Wednesday.

Advice: Garver finally connected on his first round tripper of the season in the sixth inning, snapping a 1-1 tie with a 393-foot shot to left field off Andrew Abbott. The veteran's blast also served as his fourth extra-base hit overall (out of eight total hits), but he's still sporting an ugly .160/.283/.280 slash line through his first 60 plate appearances. • Cranks third home run
Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Bellinger is off to a bit of a slow start, with just a .200 batting average, a .667 OPS and three home runs across 18 games. However, he is now riding a modest four-game hitting streak, and perhaps Wednesday's long ball will give him another boost of momentum. Bellinger batted .307 with an .881 OPS and 26 home runs a season ago, so the upside is certainly there. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:15 pm
